Superman Returns or Spider-Man 3?

Since I've seen it been widely discussed on the Spider-Man boards, I thought it would be interesting to see a general opinion on SHH. So...opinions?

I'd go for SM3, purely because it's generally a more entertaining movie. SR sometimes tends to take itself too seriously and has a good few boring moments. The whole Super-kid storyline was ridiculous too.

Edit: I'm a boob! I accidentally voted for Superman instead of Spider-Man so you can discount 1 vote for SR.

It's really hard to compare the two. As far as the quality of films they were, I would put them on the same level...but, Spider-man 3 was definitely more fun.
I was disapointed in both only becasue I was expecting bigger things from both. I would say the flaws each one had are in basically two different directions. One dwelled too much on character and the other not enough. The medium between these two would be a perfect balance.

Superman Returns was boring as hell. You know you're up s**t's creek when the climax of the movie is when Superman throws a rock into the sun. Brilliant, Singer. Brilliant.

I didn't vote,not gonna vote. I just don't see the comparison factor in these two movies...One was story driven(SR),and one was CGI driven(SM3). I'd rather see SM3 get compared to the movies coming out this year,than movie released over a year ago. Heck; if they gonna do that they might as well compare SM3 to batman begins.....
Two different styels of movies imo. However if ur gonna pin me down, I would go SM3,just for semi-fun factor. SR had a better story,and didn't have as many WTF parts...

It is totally appropriate to compare both superhero movies. Any superhero can be compared to each other. Both movies are full of boo-hoo-hoo drama, but Spiderman 3 is more entertaining, better story, and more action. Superman Returns was not entertaining, was boring, had a silly story, and had no action.

I myself love both movies, but Superman Returns is magnificent and the best superhero movie since the post X-Men revival in 2000.

Both movies had problems in the script department. Maybe Spider-Man 3 was more entertaining but Superman Returns was more consistent.

Sm3 was ghastly and dull. Yes it had lots in it, but no substance to it, I find that boring, the direction focussed on a few money shots and lacked concentration throughout and a general cinematic theme. Moods were very mixed up, and it felt like it was jumping from one part to another without much thought, there are many issue here

SR has consistant tone and mood, with better acting, the direction was linking to itself throughout, making it feel like a whole overall film that flowed. Whilst the story could have been beter, it was still very engaging, unlike sm3 which was a good story that was horriffically executed!

Just for the record, Spidey was always my fav comic as a kid etc, and i always hated superman.

I'd say it'd be better to compare Superman Returns with Spider-man 2, as both movies were less about the action, and more character driven.

SM3. Despite its faults, and there are many, it still is a decent movie that works for entertainment and in endearing its characters to audiences and its storyline. I enjoyed SR on first viewing but it is a distant cold movie. It is classically done but has no life in it.

SM3 will benefit from dvd since you can chapter skip through the unwatchable parts... I thought SR was long but i didnt think anything was unwatchable... i.e. no Sups playing a piano that moves into a dance number.

And I'll never understand what some people have against that scene. There was nothing wrong with it.

Well I never once checked my watch during Spider-Man 3, so SM3 definately gets my vote.
