HERE, HERE!!!

Except not against this show. I love this show. One of my faves.

I love STAS too...often when I am upset about SR I watch STAS....just to remind me that it can be done right. Timm wasn't always right, but he was so damn close that I don't fault him too much.

Also, to add to this discussion. Someone faulted the episode of "Destroyer". Let me remind these folks that his was the finale intended AFTER "epilougue"!!!!!! I'm so glad we got a JL ending instead of Batman's gonads being replaced :whatever::whatever::whatever::wow::wow::csad:

apokolipse now 1 and 2 were my favorites, they really sold the epic nature the show could take, and I love the battle at the airforce base, and the superfeat to stop the meltdown core from burning into the earths surface.

the finale apokolipse 2 parter was brilliant two, espcially when Supergirl and Superman face off, when Superman retakes his uniform, and says goodbye to Lois at star labs, and when Supes finally confronts DarkSeid in the thrown room.

A little peice of home wins it for best animation though. It was the sharpest episode if I remember correctly. There was another, "who killed clark kent" that was a really good one too if I remember correctly.

Yes, I say this.

It's quite obvious when you watch JL.

does it really matter, he's the only person I can think of that has allowed superman to last for over 100 episodes throughout all the series, and kept it straightforward and decent. Same with Bats really. His treatment of characters aside, he did pretty much deliver the entire DC line of superheroes, and made it look good. Not an easy feat, most especially working for WB

My favorite episodes are Legacy part 1 and 2. I thought they were brilliant.

The Ruby Spears Superman maker did better. That was about a guy who really FELT like Superman, not some farmboy idiot.

ah yes, but short lived. Lack of episodes didn't allow it to grow. TAS survived long enough to get epic, and combine with BTAS, and eventually spawn JLA/U. The RS, however great, just didn't go the distance.

but not because of the quality, it was just too expensive to make (licence cost).

Both great episodes. The first one you've mentioned was entitled, "Apokolips...Now"/ part 2. This is where Darkseid kills police detective, Dan Turpin. This character was fashioned after the late great Jack Kirby as a tribute. The very end of the episode pays homage to Jack in memory of. The other episode is entitled, "The Late Mr. Kent". (*at least I believe that is what this episode was titled*) Anyway, as you've mentioned, great ending.

Actually, Dan Turpin was created BY Jack Kirby. His appearance was altered by Timm and Dini to resemble Jack for the cartoon.

Originally, Turpin was a bald headed guy in a brown derby and, as we found out later, was one of the original Newsboy Legion from the 30's grown up.

Farmboy idiot.
:cmad:

I know a few people who grew up on farms and would take great offense to that statement.

There are "farmboys" and there are "idiots". And there are "farmboys" who are "idiots" = "Farmboy idiots"

Please don't try to hard to misunderstand me.

I really enjoy "Blasts From The Past" "In Brightest Day" "The Main Man" "Apokolips Now"... That episode that introduces Lana too...Can't remember the name...I love a lot of episodes, really. This show rocks

very interesting thread. Personally I don't think the show gets enough time of day, lex luthor's character is just as awe inspiring as the joker in tas (perhaps even more).

I need to go back and rewatch alot of these eps. Hopefully the supes in the beginning of justice league isn't similar to the one here. he was much better by justice league unlimited

I liked this version of Superman a lot. It didn't give him that overpowering persona and he had a bit of vulnerability which was more fun to watch. I liked the episode with Bizarro the most.

1)Apokolips Now
2)tie Little Girl Lost/Heavy Metal
3) That one where Clark "dies" and Superman has to stop an execution. That was some powerfull stuff there.
