SUPERNATURAL Season 8! - Part 1

Anyone notice how their new allies seem to be goofballs lately? Capable allies, but still goofballs. Charlie, Kevin and Garth. Maybe you can count Becky too, I dunno. Just something I noticed. It'd be nice to have some more serious characters, but that's just me

With Castiel MIA for most the season. The comic relief had to come from someone else.

I also wish for more serious characters too. Krissy was the most recent I can think of. The kid was Gordon Walker serious.

I miss Gordon.

The Reaper in "Faith" could be explained that since he was binded to work with the minister's wife, that he was rotting and that's why he had that physical look to him.

And Reapers can have any form they want...the Reaper in "Taxi Driver" isn't a huge mistake when they could easily be looked at as regular human beings.
Well we can assume A LOT of things about everything and have endless discussions, but what is the point?

I just wish the show had a more horror tone to it and I don't think it would be a huge deal to do that ! Everything else, are just excuses. I mean don't get me wrong, I don't expect to see Transformers-like special effects and I still like this show enough to watch it everytime, I just don't think they need to use humans with their normal look each time we have a spirit/creature/whatever!

I totally agree and don't forget Castiel, he got "goofier" too (watching Porn - lol that was fun, but if Dean do it for example, for an Angel meh, fooling around with Meg, being INSANE - I mean many were funny, but totally not like him imo)! Man I remember Season 4, Castiel was more "serious" and more badass, just check this: [YT]S5Lv1SdxHXY[/YT]

Man as I said I still think the show is good, but the more I watch Seasons 1-5, the more I notice how MUCH BETTER it was handled! Also the old villains were so good, Alastair makes Crowley look like a pu$$y! Crowley is more of a joker, Alastair was creepy and menacing! And the Leviathans, I don't understand how can some random monsters kill celestial beings such as Angels only because they are older, it only seemed like they tried to force the Leviathans into show cause they ran out of good villains after Lucy, not to mention the whole thing was too political as someone mentioned before here. This is why I'm glad Sera Gamble is gone and I hope Carver & Co. can put the show back on track! Ok Rant over lol. Season 8 was already an improvement to S6 & S7, so it's looking good!

dean's a bit of a goofball when he's not being serious.

Krissy is probably my favorite out of them. Meg was their last serious ally.

And Ken-Kaniff I agree with EVERYTHING you just said. The show started of trying to scare us but now I feel like they've gotten too comfortable with how the show is now. Half the stuff we're seeing now we wouldn't have seen in the first two seasons probably. I just feel like they're not even trying anymore, and more so just focused on the story (which is good, don't get me wrong). But the show went from X-Files horror stuff to run of the mill "Reaper" "Buffy the Vampire Slayer" type stuff. And Crowley being the main villain doesn't help much either, but he's still a great capable villain.

Come on SPN let's be scary again. That's all we're saying. Great season though.

That reminds me...am I the only one who thinks Garth being MIA was foreshadowing something? It just seemed odd to me they mentioned that.

While Qualls is on another show, I think mentioning him being MIA and not just having Dean talk to him on the phone as usual could definitely lead to some arc next season where Sam and Dean are looking for a still-MIA Garth.

Chuck can be considered a "goofball" too and he may have been God! Lol.

When something is binded though in Supernatural, the case can be accurate that it rots the person/thing that is binded, though.

So far, I have liked the way they have handled monsters in the past eight seasons except for these two things:

- The phoenix in "Frontierland" should've bursted into a silhouette of a flaming bird when Dean shot him with the Colt.

- The "bastard" Djinn in "Pac-Man Fever" should have had a blue aura around their hands when they touch someone since their eyes and tattoos already lit blue.

I haven't been saying this with season eight, though. It seemed like a parody of horror in season seven, but I'm totally fine with the tone for this season.

I think the show was only really legit scary during season 1 and 2. After that, they turned the corner from horror to horror-fantasy.

I hope Krissy is among those that Crowley will target. Or at least those he target will be people we remember and not another off screen friend like the cop turned witch with an hot ass dog by his side.

Can't wait for tonight's ep, I hope Metatron makes it through the next season!

Yeah mainly around 4 with the introduction of the angels. 3 managed to keep it up a tad. 5...not so much.

I think season 5 wasn't really meant to be creepy, it was more like an emotional overload on the brothers of their situation, their friends (Cass, Bobby) , Sam's guilt etc and had a depressing feeling throughout.

Farewell Sarah. R.I.P

FINALE PROMO

Crowley's gonna get his soon.:cmad:

Not sure how I feel about tonights episode. Mainly the Castiel plotline to shutdown Heaven. He just got ragged on by Dean and he does this. Not to mention I don't like the convenient half human half angel character. Funny how the Heaven trials involve taking a life while the Hell trials involve rescuing one and curing one.

And I expected the killing of the saved lives to be throughout the whole episode and not just the second half. Smart move by Crowley though, using the books. I loved the scene with his speech while Sam and Dean were looking for the bag. But did the boys just forget about Abbadon? I hope not.

The black and white flashback scenes were great. Just when I was talking about them losing their creepy. These were the best exorcist scenes I've seen since season 1.

The finale looks cool. Its crunch time clearly.

Wow, Nephilim were brought in!? That is pretty cool!

I hope we get to find out more about Castiel's past. To hear Naomi tell it he has been a constant kink in the plans and has been rewired and wiped clean multiple times. That sounds like he might be more than just an average angel and with some higher force taking interest in him on multiple occasions since he was introduced I'm inclined to believe there is more to him than just the Cas we know.

No, I think he's just an average angel. He just seems to have empathy/morals, and questions authority.

I don't mean like he is an archangel just that he may have been witness to some interesting stuff in and outside of heaven and have a destiny and purpose for something else. Something makes him different cause he is anything but a mindless angel like all the rest of the grunts. He is a series regular next season so perfect time to explore Cas.

Everytime Dean pulls the "You didn't trust ME?! Well, **** you then..." = :whatever:

What ever happened to that scene of cas kicking the sh** out of dean? I remember towards the end if summer there was a clip of it online, but I don't remember seeing it any episode. Man that would have been satisfying to see.

Once we start talking about SPN needing to be creepy again, this episode airs...those black and white videos, Abaddon calling on her hand to pull the bullet out of her mouth...damn. Some risky moments we hadn't seen since the early days.

I feel the trials in shutting the gates of Heaven will end up being much, much more bloody than even closing the gates of Hell. With Hell, the only thing you had to kill was a Hellhound; but for Heaven, you're starting off on ripping the heart out of a Nephilim. Wonder what the other two will be.

Well, that's not even close to true, but okay.

Okay, I'll bite...what has been so creepy from seasons three until now?

One word: Rugaru

I'm sure there are plenty more examples, but I have **** to do.
