Also, whether you like or hate Russell, you still have to give him credit. I just read that he left his first game in July of 2009 (after final tribal council). He lost at Redemption Island in August 2010. That means in the period of one year, he played 3 games. That has to take a toll both physically and mentally. You may not like him, but damn....that is intense.

I like him. He freakin LOVES the game...he puts his whole being into it. I think that he had a good run.

Philip is so ****ing inept, I have a hard time believing he's a professional anything, let alone government agent.

I would like to point out that 'Former Federal Agent' still has a question mark after it whenever they show Philip's name on screen.

Didn't Philip say he worked in field sanitation?

Seriously? I haven't even paying attention to the name displays.

I can believe that he is a "special" agent, just not for the government :)

That's hilarious that they still have a '?' after the special agent in Phillips name. I haven't even noticed that and have to watch for it now.

I've been trying to find a screencap...but I can't. :csad:

Here's an interesting article about Phil. It seems he was more of a background investigator and could be exaggerating.

‘Survivor: Redemption Island’: Was Phillip truly a federal agent?

examiner .com

Phillip Sheppard is a lot of things on “Survivor: Redemption Island”—unpredictable, wacky, and highly entertaining top the list—but one thing about the 52-year-old California resident remains unknown: Was this guy really a federal agent?
If you ask Phillip, he’ll say yes. And he’ll tell you again and again--in between showing off his animal tattoos and playing a poor, transparent social game. But repeating a phrase over and over again doesn’t make it true , so here’s what Phillip’s LinkedIn page says regarding his work with the United States government.
In the early 1980s, Phillip was a US Army soldier stationed in Germany and around the US for four years. He was Honorably Discharged.
From 1986 to 1989, Phillip worked for the DIS (Defense Investigative Service), which has since changed its name to the Defense Security Service. There, Phillip was a “Special Agent.” Here’s the job description written on his LinkedIn page:
The Defense Security Service (DSS) oversees the protection of US and foreign classified information in the hands of industry, administers the National Industrial Security Program for DoD to include issuance of security clearances to industry, supports the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) in the conduct of personnel security investigations for DoD, provides security education and training in core security disciplines to the DoD Community and provides information technology services that support the industrial and personnel security missions of DoD and its partner agencies.
If this page is believed to be true, it looks like Phillip was more of a background investigator than a Jack Bauer clone.

And CIA agents "work for the Department of Agriculture." This is all part of the Gorilla's plan! You mess with his country and he is coming for you!

:hehe: Seriously, how can people not love Phillip? He is the most entertaining character on the show in a long time.

He annoys me and I just don't understand how anyone can want to keep him around since he is clearly a lose cannon. If I was Rob I would be very paranoid if I had to depend on Phils vote to stay in the game.

I like Phillip. He seems to be geniunely enjoying his time there, whether it be hunting crab or just retrieving tree mail, there is a child-like wonder about him. I enjoy it. There's not a mean bone in his body and that makes him a totally incompetent Survivor player, but he's still fun to watch, if for no other reason than his craziness being funny as ****.

As for Rob, Rob should be paranoid of him. If the tribes merge with even numbers, Phillip is the one who is most likely to flip, IMO (or Andrea). But Rob is cocky. He is just as cocky as Ralph. It'll be both of their downfalls.

Philip is either a great actor...or a certifiable nutjob.

I would probably go crazy if I had to deal with Phil on a daily basis but he does make for good television.

I would absolutely hate someone like Phil in my day to day life, but for Survivor ... I love him on the show. He might be one of my favorites on the show in some time. Love him or hate him, he's definitely interesting.

Yikes, bad editting. As soon as Rob said in the build up to the challenge, "This could be a turning point for Omatepe, they can't take this win off of us," it was pretty obvious that Omatepe won and he said that after the challenge.

Worst tribal council ever. Just absolutely boring. Even with Probst's attempt to make it seem like Steve could be a target based on Stephanie and Krista's vote it was still transparent and boring.

It appears Rob was also bored as he led a wild goose chase , lol.

I should be a little more interesting to see if the over confident Zapatera crumbles though and was nice to see them loose for a change but I agree it was uneventful.
Also I'm rooting for Matt to make it out of Redemption Island but not his aw shucks attitude.
