Francesca
leave tonight!!! I really liked her!!

Hopefully she kicks some tail on Redemption Island and gets back in!

I kinda liked her too. Hopefully, she does well on RI.

I'm still trying to figure out where everyone got the idea that Rob is some legendary player. Despite not having a win, I can get Russell being considered one of the best. But what has Rob really don't to warrant it? 2 of his 3 games he didn't even make jury. I can think of probably 15 players who are better than him. Hell, I can think of at least 1 Survivor Rob who is better than him. Where did all of this hype come from?

Well Rob managed to get on All Stars by default seemingly. Then from All Stars he just came off really well as the bad guy . I wouldn't say he is among the best players but definitely a memorable villain. It's a combination of reasons why he is back but compared to Russell it's already been shown who is better at the game.

If Zapatera has any brains at all...Russell will be gone ASAP!

....and then back , lol. I'm not even sure how this redemption island thing works. If they get voted off they go there and fight for a chance to get back in.. then they return immediately. Is there a set number of times they can go to redemption island?

I'll give Rob some credit, he played a pretty good game in All-Stars. He was a dominant force in challenges, giving his team a strong majority. And his tactics were pretty good too...having a strong alliance of 2 within a strong alliance of 4 within an alliance of 6 meant he was never in the minority whatever happened.

From what I understand, you go to RI when you're voted out and then 'duel' against the other person already there. The winner of that duel stays, and the loser leaves the game. The duels continue until the producers decide to stop it and a winner is declared.

The way I understood it, there will be pre-determined points in the game where the person in Redemption Island rejoins the tribe. If I was to guess, I would say at final 10 and final 5, probably.

Wow, Phillip is CRAZY. I honestly wouldn't feel safe sleeping at night with him around.

Anyone else think he's a federal agent only in his head? He's well on his way to being a legendary Survivor.

I thought there was only one true winner of Redemption Island...not multiples.

Unless I was seeing things...didn't they have Phillip's tagline as 'Former Federal Agent?' with the question mark on the end?

Possible. Gotta watch to find out, I guess.

Haha, that was awesome. It was almost out of sheer disbelief. "This guy? Really?". If Phillip was in charge of my country's security, I would move.

I didn't catch the "?" attached with Phillips name. That's too funny if they did that. He just doesn't seem right upstairs.

Phillip is a nutjob. Between the way he interacted with people and then walking around in those pink tighty whiteys...

:barf:

My theory on Phillip....former CIA agent and this whole crazy persona is just one massive mind ****. Why else wouldn't he just say, "I was in the FBI?" or "I was in the DEA?" Why keep saying "federal agent?" Dude is CIA....either that or he was a community planner who worked for the Department of Housing and Urban Development and federal agent just sounds cooler. :(

I tend to agree. I think Phillip's persona is an act, or he's greatly exaggerating.

Boy, if that is an act he needs to get into film. He has me absolutely convinced he's not right.

I also agree ... those pink/purple briefs are just disturbing to look at.

Don't get me wrong, though ... I think he'll be awesome on the show. I like a little crazy thrown in.

That makes more sense. It's going to be tough for whoever survives that mess then tries to return to regular game play.

I think I'll go with the latter. Him playing everyone like that sounds too good to be true.

I'm kinda disappointed that Phillip and Russell didn't land up on the same team. Their interaction would be priceless. :oldrazz:

Phillip is a trip, I kinda hope he sticks around, there's no way he's going to win the game, but just for comedic purposes.

Looks like Russell and that hillbilly look'n guy are going to bump heads next week. I'm calling it right now, Russell doesn't make it to the merge and neither will his little "girlfriend".

My prediction on Russell:

Based on the preview, it looked like his feet were the ones walking onto Redemption Island. I think Russell will be the first voted off from his tribe. He will then (through producer aide, no doubt), run Redemption Island and make it back into the game at the merge, at which point he will run the game and get to the final 4.....but ultimately not make finals.

Dunno, just spit balling?

I definitely think Russell stands the most to gain from the Redemption Island twist.

Meanwhile, Rob got the lucky draw. He landed on the tribe of idiots who are for the most part the younger, less wise players who are just star struck. People give Rob way too much credit for Survivor All-Stars. He was essentially just the smartest of the mediocre players such as himself, Alicia, Amber, Rupert, and Big Tom. And unfortunately, due to the need to fill demographics, the mediocre players outnumbered the real All-Stars like Colby, Lex, Rob C., Ethan, and Richard and he went far, not due to merit, but because of the fact that real All-Stars never stood a chance. Rob showed just how "great," of a player he is on Heroes vs. Villains.

This game, because of his lucky tribe draw, he will go far, probably make jury and be one of the later additions to it, but had he drawn Russell's tribe, he would be the first to go. He got very lucky to have landed on the tribe that he did. The way he was able to intimidate them in tribal council based on little more than his celebrity is very telling. If any non-celebrity player tried it, they would've been voted out right then and there. Look at what happened to Shannon when he basically tried to pull the same **** that Rob did last night. The entire tribe turned on him. This time however, the tribe pandered to Rob and basically threw themselves at his mercy last night. Rob and Russell both have a huge unfair advantage. Its why I don't like mixing former Survivors and new players.

Zapatera definitely seems more 'game based' and alot less star struck. They aren't fawning all over Russell, they know he has to go...and quick.

I think another reason for it is hype. Survivor All Stars was 7 years ago. In that time, reality has been skewed and Rob has been portrayed by the producers as

1) One of the best players in Survivor history (puuuuh-lease)

2) In the light of this amazing leader and lovable rogue more than a straight Survivor villain. Russell on the other hand, has been played up by the producers (and in all fairness, by himself) as a guy who would eat a baby if it meant getting further in the game.

It all comes down to perception, I suppose.

I think Russell would eat a baby if he knew it would help him. I can't stand the guy.

Maybe, but in all fairness, Rob isn't much better. He's every bit the bully that Russell is. But for some reason Probst and the producers paint him differently.

Oh, don't get me wrong, I can't stand Rob either.
