I am disgusted. :cmad:

Probst telling Amber she can leave if the kids get too rowdy = a veiled way of telling her "Back off, *****, Rob's my man."

Grant, are you a caveman?

Go Rob. Im glad he won; he deserved it. He's one of my favorite Survivor contestant ever

This. Rob did deserve to win. Like him or hate him, he played the smartest, most strategic game. Someone please explain to me why Phillip or even worse Natalie deserved to win, and I'll explain to you why water is dry.

So glad Matt didn't win sprint's player award. That 100k would have gone down some radical Church's sinkhole.

What a misfire 'Redemption Island' as a concept was though. Can't believe they're doing that crap again next season. Maybe they already had it underway and it was too late to change their plans.

Rob played a good game, but this being his 4th time playing and getting the gift of a weak minded team doesn't hurt. I am hoping for a better balance of teams in South Pacific.

No one is saying that Natalie or Phillip deserved the win over Rob. What I'm saying is that no one deserved the win. Going into the finale. of the possible winners, three of the players were sheep with no strategy, three had already been voted out, one had been voted out twice, and one had the game stacked in his favor by the producers and received every possible bit of help.

This game was designed to be either the Rob or Russell show. The winner was determined when a buff was selected at the beginning of the game. The level of interference was on par with a season of Big Brother.

Phillip's jury performance was a major letdown. He said he knew just what to say to beat Rob and had an oral argument nobody had thought of. And that was...yell at the jury some more? It honestly looked like he was trying to lose, and that's not an exaggeration.

I really thought Phil was going to sell his strategy. Instead it was like he took Rob's advice to Natalie , which was to be unapologetic, and he just ran with it. I think if he resorted to some type of effort he might of gotten a couple more votes but Rob knew exactly what to say.
I love how they deconstructed Natalie.. she was looking at Rob almost for approval every time she made a comment , lol.

I smell a broken engagement is in store. Most girls wouldn't just embarrass their man like that on national tv, but she'll "shut it down" in private.

That's sounds likely. I don't see it working out unless he gets to do another season as a favorite . which is doubtful

Don't be so sure. He finished better than Rob did in his first game (and third game for that matter). Rob didn't even make jury and he was voted back for All-Stars. Why? Because Probst adores Rob. Probst has basically been running the show for awhile. He has a huge say in casting and he has been talking up David in his blog quite a bit. I could see him getting invited back.

Putting aside the 4 attempts to win, producer interference, Probst's man crush on Rob, seemingly fixed challenges and there was no choice but Rob to win this game. I heavily dislike him but both Natalie and Phillip laid down and died in front of that Jury. They showed no reason why they should have won and actually gave all the credit to Rob to win (which is true but they don't have to admit it and call him the mastermind). I only wished someone said something about the fact that 1000's of people audition to be on Survivor and 13 other players would do anything to be in the position they were in.

Overall I was disappointed with the Season Finale. I was hoping that Matt or Mike would come back (even Grant). Players who had a chance at winning a challenge or two to get themselves to the end and ruin Rob and the producer's plans. Anyone but Andrea, but of course the challenge ends up being a balancing challenge which I find typically favor females. Then Natalie and Ashley blew any chance on doing ANYTHING in this game by at least TRYING to get rid of Rob, or even Phillip since they knew Rob had the hidden immunity idol. You only have to watch Rob for a minute to know that with his huge ego he would have never risked his safety over another person's when it came down to it. So big deal, Rob would have known you betrayed him, even if he won the last (fixed) challenge two of those three girls would have still made the finals.

Did anyone else get the feeling Ashley threw that last challenge? I am not sure if it was the editing but she had all three rows done WAYYY before Rob but she kept taking them off the puzzle for some stupid reason.

I was curious about the last challenge as well. The editing made it look like Ashley had it solved well before Rob.

So pissed Rob won the sprint money too that should have gone to Matt or Phillip.

So with the horrendous setup and the taint of Rob's win, my last words on this season will focus on the only reason to ever rewatch Redemption Island - Special Agent Phillip Sheppard.

I thought he was about to do it. I really thought all he needed was a nuts and bolts "I was faking it, this is the reason why, I'm actually a normal person, I'm sorry, Natalie's lazy, Rob's a cheat and had the show set up for him..." and he could have gotten to 5 votes.

It was all so promising when he burned the pink underoos, showed up at tribal in a robe, and then started his speech off talking about the necessity to change his strategy once the returning players were revealed. Then it went off the rails and straight to terrible. He accomplished nothing for himself in his speech and seemed to be asking the jury to vote for Rob.

Once any thought of him winning left my mind and this season could permanently be relegated to "worst ever" status, Phillip gave us a few more fireworks to remember him by, to remind of the few entertaining moments of this season.

First came Julie with her incredibly inapproriate "what would your kids think of the way you played?" rhetorical question. Uh, their kids probably feel better than your kids considering you brought home less money than them AND you took on a mortgage you couldn't afford and then tried to get Sprint sympathy votes by mentioning it on your way to the Ponderosa. "To hell with you" is right. Big F-U to Julie. Is this the same woman who STOLE Phillip's swim shorts? The one that also outright lied to Stephanie and Krista? Get out of here and hope you are never brought back. Then again, no hope required because you won't be asked back.

Then came Ashley, who again tried the whole "I'm talking, you don't get to talk" bitter crap. So good for Phillip to give her one last telling-off. News flash to Ashley. Phillip more than likely is well-read. You? Not so much.

So thank you to Phillip Sheppard. You were the only good thing that stood out in a wretched season.

Regarding Redemption Island not really meaning anything in the outcome:

Yesterday afternoon before the show, I was thinking, there are still a lot of people still in play for a finale. You had four in camp and four at Redemption Island. I thought, wouldn't it have been a neat twist if they said for the next challenge would be a team challenge again? The remaining tribe members as one team vs. the Redemption Island members as the other team. Winning team are your Final Four. Losing team goes home! Just to see the look on Boston Rob's face!

It was like she got to the last ten squares and had a brainfart.. not sure what happened there either.

Good point. I wanted to see more from David actually. It's a given Phil will be back I think Rob wound up on all stars because so many people said no to coming back. I've never seen that season but I'm curious if he stood out.

I think Rob did a nice job of getting into her head with the idea of cooperation. Her mind was officially off the puzzle and onto contemplating Rob's offer.

I saw enough of Dave. He was such a weak player. He is one of the least deserving of a return to the game. I won't hash out my case against him again since I already posted it in the South Pacific thread. :cwink:

I would have preferred the Redemption Island final four over the actual final four.

That's sad if she really went down because of that. I thought she took it in stride ... she seemed way ahead and still should of gotten it imo.

As for Dave .. maybe he would be a better player the next time around , that's worked out well for some people.

I still don't know why Rob didn't just throw her puzzle bags back into the maze. Ashley just left her bags there, so I wouldn't think it'd be against the rules at that point. If you're going to follow me around the maze and then drop your bags to help you keep up, guess what? I'm throwing your s*** way over there at Phillip's feet. Go fetch.

David's season was a season of embarrassments. His one moment came in his jury speech, but he shouldn't have even been on the jury. Sarita was actually a better strategist than him, it's only when her horrible challenge performances threatened to wipe out Zapatera before the merge that Dave was spared. Hindsight being what it is, Sarita would have been a lot better player to take to the merge than Dave.

It's funny because my wife suggested that the Murlonio 4 and the Redemption 4 should have had a team challenge, with the winning team making F4.

Totally against anyone coming back into the game after they've been voted out...once you're voted out you shouldn't be able to come back (for that season). Redemption Island is a friggin joke and it goes against the very premise of the show.

As little as Natalie and Phillip did to get to the final 3, at least they did it without "coming back" after getting voted off. I would have preferred any of the RI players to have legitimately won, i.e. not getting voted out and sent to RI in the first place (except maybe Matt who is completely ignorant of the game and too naive to survive) but they didn't.

I love Survivor, but I have to admits I'm glad this season is done. I found this to be one of the more boring seasons and ended up just wanting it to come to a close.

It seemed inevitable that Rob was going to win. I just can't believe no one at least attempted a blindside on him. The dumb girls kept saying they knew he had the individual immunity idol ... That's why you don't wait until he has to play it. Dumb cast, dumb season.

I really wish they would drop the Redemption Island and returning members bits.
