'Sword of Truth' aka Legend of the Seeker

This makes my day.

Interesting. What is this new Richard and Kahlan novel? I mean if its a book about Richard and Kahlan just having smex for 300 pages, that would be pretty cool?

The show tends to gloss over any specifics like that. I assumed the sword was magically making Richard a better fighter, but I didn't know he had to retain some spark of his own personal magic to make it work.

I guess that would be a better indicator that he still has his magic than the agiels. The fact that they're still working made me suspect that maybe Richard had a trace of his magic left. But then I figured they might still be working because the magic associated with the Rahl bloodline was out there somewhere, even if it was in Nicci rather than Richard himself .

Yeah, they gloss over stuff. Like the Bond, it's not just to any Rahl, but to Lord Rahl specifically. Like at one point in the story Richard gives up the throne to Nathan Rahl and everyone felt the magic shift, just like they sensed that Richard was the new Lord Rahl after Darken's death. It's weird, but the Bond is not handled well at all in the story, everyone under Rahl's rule should have felt and known that Richard is the new Lord Rahl ... not just a few, and the Bond also allows his followers to find him wherever he is in the world.

As for the sword, he's absorbed the skill/knowledge of the other previous Seekers before him, even without the sword he would be unbeatable. But the fact that the sword still lights up and reacts to him is proof enough. Not to mention the Agiel.

That Panis Rahl reveal was so stupid.

I can't believe they've only been walking for three months and just now asked how exactly are they supposed to use the Stone. Lazy writers. They could have had a mini arc in the middle of the season with them splitting up and looking for both. That would have been great.

I'm confused. How much older is Darken Rahl than Richard? And what about Zedd's daughter? Didn't Panis basically RAPE Zedd's daughter or disguise himself and sex her up?

Why did the episode gloss over that?

In this episode, Zedd came off like a single playboy swinger. Where was his wife and where was his daughter that Panis was supposed to have knocked up with Richard?

^^^ That crap is exactly why I haven't watched it for like 2 months. The potential they had was utterly lost with this mess they've made.

That's what happens when a story makes sense in print and is changed for no good reason for TV. Panis is old because he's Richard's grandfather! Richard's mother was raped by Darken! It's really that simple. Why change it?

Oh and Zedd's character made no sense in the episode. At that point in his life he was helping fight the forces of Panis Rahl while he and his family lived at the Wizard's Keep.

Why did Panis change his appearance in the episode? Can't have been to fool Zed, since Zed recognized him anyway. Did they just really want to use Jonathan Rhys-Davies as Panis but couldn't ensure they'd have him for future appearances of Panis?

I found out not long ago that my Aussie Hero Matthew Le Nevez was in Legend of the Seeker...as Leo this season.

:o he played the main guy in MAN-THING. I own some comic books and two copies of the dvd (Region 1 and Steelbook 2-Disc Region 2 from Netherlands)

Too bad the DOP, CGI, and music is best thing about that movie...

Imagine a series of movies as big and epic as LOTR... maybe we can actually get that now. In a way, this actually makes me sad... if it wasn't for the show, I'd have never found the books. They've only got themselves to blame for the cancellation though.

NOOOOOOO!!!!!

Yeah I'm still sad despite all the haters. I liked the show and I adored the actors.

I am surprised it took this long for it to get canceled.
With all due respect to those who like this show, it is a very..very pale representation of the books to a point of being a mockery.

This would have done a whole lot better if it went more along with the books and was of a darker tone.

Total fail here.

1. I love daytime soaps, mostly GH, but ABC produces this show? Just have one of the soaps air only Mon-Thur and have Seeker on Fridays.

2. Syfy, TNT, TBS, TheCW, SpikeTv, USANetwork, didn't want this show? FAIL.

:o

why would they want it...it hasn't performed well...ratings or critically

TNT picked up Southland because of all the critical acclaim it received and its doing well there

Im a fan of the books and I liked the show for what it was, but it could have done a better job of being a little more faithful to the novels

If we get a huge, epic movie series someday, then most of the actors I've cast in my mind could actually be used.

Richard: Henry Cavill
Kahlan: Evangeline Lilly
Nathan: Bill Nighy
Ann: Judi Dench
Jagang: Dave Batista
Verna: Diane Lane
Warren: Anton Yelchin
Nicci: January Jones
Cara: Rachel McAdams
Berdine: Kristen Bell
Raina: Jordana Brewster
Ulic: John Cena
General Trimack: Gerard Butler
Shota: Olivia Wilde
Chase: Aaron Eckhart

I dunno who for Zedd, Darken Rahl, or Adie. Bruce Spence is perfect as Zedd to me, the writers just didn't do the First Wizard justice.

Good casting, especially with the pick for Richard since Goodkind went to great lengths to make Richard look like Kal-El. Though I always pictured Routh in the role since he's a fan of the books.

Better ratings than SGU. Or Spartacus on Starz!. Although that's not a fair comparison.

A decent episode. Since the show is essentially cancelled, do you think they'll rap the series up in the finale or will we be left w/ a long lingering cliffhanger a'la Farscape?

I heard Southland's ratings on TNT weren't doing all that great but that they are going to continue pushing the show.

Whatever. The show seemed to be pulling consistent numbers in the second season.

Henry Cavill, whatever, who the **** is this guy? I haven't seen him in jack crap since Count of Monte Cristo. People on message boards always talk about this guy like he's the next Superman or whatever.

Bridget Regan is a fantastic gorgeous actress with an amazing body that's not a stick figure with lots of plastic surgery. She'd be perfect for Wonder Woman.

Did I wish they did some things differently? Yes. But I mean, the books themselves the ones that I've read are not perfect. To me, they are good reads but hardly fantastic top notch literature. Some of the changes they made IMHO were quite interesting. Not all of them worked. I think the second season did lose itself about halfway through.

I'm really enjoyed the newest episode, it was fun seeing an alternate universe! Poor Cara got shot! :( I hope there is some kind of miracle that will guarantee a season three...
