Well, in TLH, Falcone ran the banks, right? And in TDK, Maroni has taken over Falcone's businesses, apparently. So that would, yes, lead to the conclusion that it's Maroni's bank he's knocking over. Which is amusing, as it would seem to suggest that Joker is trying to ruin Maroni's day. :D

I thought so too, but both "the Chief" and "Randolph" are mentioned in the scene with the Major. I don't think Randolph is the chief. either another cop or maybe Montoya.
 
well yeah, but take into notice that the guy asks about Randolph right after the mayor talks about the chief.

Randolph = Jim
Chief = Lt. Gordan

Two ways of saying his name IMO.

This is great stuff. If what we think is Joker dialogue turns out to be just that then I'm very, very pleased. And the prosecutor/hostile witness scene... just...wow.

If I wouldn't flunk out of school, I'd seriously try freezing myself, Cartman-style until next July.

Only read each page once - but I have some ideas.

Chuckles/Grumpy, etc. Reminds me of the Jokerz gang from Batman Beyond. I think the names were not chosen for random - they are clearly working for the Joker, but perhaps they are even "themed". It would fit in the "Freaks v. Normal Crime" idea.

Gannon/Prosecutor = Dent = Happy Norman. The Gannon bit was pure incredibility, I loved every word.

Kennedy = Wayne

James/Chief Scene: I think perhaps the Batman is blamed for the actions of the "Vigilantes".

Vigilante: I wish it was the Huntress - but the script clearly indicates it is a guy, as well as being a mere bit part. I like the idea of Nolan usin the Sons of Batman though.

I really like the fact that it seems the Joker is less worried about Batman himself, but more interested in the effect he has on the city. I think that 'Joker', Brian scene is an indication of that.

I also like getting to meet the different aspects of the GCPD. Batman fights crime, it is only natural that the police would play a major role in whatever exploits is he involved with. Every police character seems to have a bit of a different personality - which is clearly a good thing.

Did I mention the Gannon scene? Pure genius.

I like the bit changes to Maroni. He seems to of fully taken on TLH Falcone. He hold power over the banks, he is the one Dent is aiming at, etc.

That bit about remembering is Smile - that was incredible.

The Joker is causing enough chaos to bring in the National Guard? Brilliant! A move normally reserved for Natural Disasters, a sign of the city facing a true crisis. Very good.

I am sure I have more - but it is freakin Midnight.
 
I liked the bit with the cop and Joker's thug, the "inside joke." It appears that Joker will have some genuine "followers", kind of cult-ish, not just some bums that are only in it for the money (as the other Joker thugs seem to be).

That, pitted against the vigilante "Sons of Batman" idea is...well, sheer beauty.

I still can't thin clearly, and it's 1AM where I am... which means it's been three hours since I finished reading this thread. And I am still being pwn3d by all of this.

Anyway, I want to thank Norm for the Judge Salizar pages... I want to congratulate Norm for making a coherent and intelligent post when the rest of us would just be quivering and gushing (and hell, still are).

Re: the "ferry" ideas...

Remember how the early location scouting mentioned that specifically that Nolan and Co. were looking for "waterfront" spots? (Which is where Baltimore and/or Liverpool were supposed to fit in?) Hmmm...

I also think that it would REALLY screw up Bruce/Batman if some kid, trying to emulate him, gets kidnapped by the Joker or another thug, and killed. "Escalation," indeed.

Great find, Miranda and everyone. Our first real scoop in months, and the start of a great Bat-season!

Yeah, but how long do you think this is gonna take place after Begins? Gordon's son in Begins was a baby, and this kid seems to be able to talk rather well. I doubt they're setting this movie that many years later.
