The Dark Knight TDK Casting Sides

We're on the same page, Katsuro! I said the same thing a couple of posts back.

There's no way a few years pass between BB and TDK. If Batman let Joker run loose for that long, that'd make him the World's worst detective. I think that the Chief = Gordon/Loeb, Gannon = Dent, and Randolph is Gordon. When the Chief is mentioned in the 800 arrests, he's Loeb and when he's mentioned on the radio show (which we all agree takes place late in the film) as Randolph, he's Gordon.

In the one side where Gordon is trying to talk down the terrorized cop from shooting Joker, what if the cop is actually trying to help Joker escape (like Anjow speculated) and turns and shoots Gordon. This may explain why the radio show host is asking about Gordon.

I really hope Two-Face doesn't show up in TDK until the last scene or two, leading up into the third movie. How anti-climatic would it be for the 3rd movie to have Two-Face be a major character this time around? They should save all his good moments for the 3rd movie to keep the audience wanting more.

TDK should build on Batman, Gordon, and Dent's relationship and how it builds. When Dent gets scarred in the end, it should be emotional and heart wrenching, not only for the characters but for the audience as well.

i agree,not even in a full scene,maybe the last few seconds of the final scene and maybe a cliffhanger

As far as the "mulitiple-names" theory goes, AgentSands, believe what you will...I promise I won't say "I told you so" when the script is leaked...

I agree that we will see the trial/scarring scene in TDK...and I think it would fit the theme of escalation perfectly: Just when Gotham is finally able to deal with the mob, from out of nowhere comes this psycho, who brings Gotham to its knees...and by the time Batman & the GCPD can even think of dealing with him, Dent is scarred, thus creating you-know-who in time for the next film, ending TDK on the note that things must indeed get worse before they get better...

I also agree with you guys that the film probably takes place over an extended period of time...I mean, Begins followed Bruce from his childhood -- albeit via Nolan's keen use of flashbacks -- so I expect he'll be able to pull off the Bruce/Batman/Gordon/Dent relationship to full effect before the end of the film...

I really don't see them showing Two-Face. maybe bandaged up, but no way with Two-Face. why do the makeup for a couple scenes when they can have more time to conceptualize and work on prosthetics for the 3rd feature?

Good call...he'll BE Two-Face, we just won't get to quite see it...yet

Now there's an intelligent response.

How about we stick to the topic at hand, instead of resorting to childish insults? The only reason anyone says s**t like this is out of insecurity for whatever reason...

If you don't agree with me (which for me, would be difficult to understand, seeing as though I provided some rather concrete reasoning), prove me wrong using valid points...and if you aren't able to read script excerpts so as to picture them as actual scenes in a movie, maybe you should post in a forum that is related to whatever it is you do.

well yeah i don't agree with you but geez that's no problem. i called you an arse cos of your attitude

you're acting like you're beyond fault, your logic is so damn cutting and 'obvious' that if we don't get it's because we can't read a script correctly. you're arrogant. telling me to go to another forum? telling other people their posts have no validity? ptuh.

I feel the same. I definatley think he'll be scarred by the end of the second (even before the sides came out), but I dont think they'll show it until the third movie. Perhaps at the end of the second movie he's been scarred and is recovering in the hospital.

bandaged face, or, at the most, in half shadow, with his scarred side hidden from view for the most part.

Wow...if you let something like that get on your nerves, I wonder what happens when your kids get out of line...and what in God's name is a ptuh?

Anyways, I'm merely trying to show another way of reading the script...I took out all the names (of the main characters), and I replaced them with who I was certain was whom, and I was pleasantly suprised and excited by what I came across, I must say.

It´s a fact, man. These pieces are made for auditions. It´s a common procedure to use pieces in auditions that come from early drafts. Actually, scripts are changed even during shooting. If you watch the SR DVD, Brandon Routh auditioned with versions of the rooftop scene that didn´t have the exact same dialogue as the final version. Jeez, there are things that show up IN TRAILERS that don´t end up or end up different in the final movie...

You guys gotta wake up man~! I know that sometimes you can't somebody's tell by reading their post -- and thus, may not pick up on sarcasm -- but if you actually read this thread (instead of trying unsuccessfully to make a fool of someone), you'd clearly understand my opinion in regards to this...

Rory: Chuckles + Gentle Voice = Mister J

It's no secret...but the only way I'd be in my right mind to believe this would be if they, as you said, changed the odd thing here and there...otherwise I'd have to believe that Chuckles was a side as well, which I don't.

Understand?

dude. arrogant. what you're implying is bullshiiiit. you have kids? if not then **** and don't insinuate like that into personal matters. if i don't respond to your next 'retort' it's cos i'm not here to deal with people like you

Dude, my post wasn´t referring to that, I was talking in general about the casting sides, cuz I felt people were analysing them in too much detail. I wasn´t necessarily talking about this who is who thing.

Ekhart's comments about the role and THE DARK KNIGHT lead me to believe we will see Two-Face, damaged face and all.

lmao kenellard,

your witty quips have me wanting to be ur best friend just to have good zingers coming from my camp.

The cliffhanger no doubt. If it's a brief glimpse the make-up doesn't need to be perfect. It may also be 'raw' scarring that looks different by movie3.

Edit: reffering to Woj's point about conceptualising the make-up

The cliffhanger no doubt. It'll probably be a very brief glimpse so the make-up doesn't need to be perfect. It may also be 'raw' scarring that looks different by movie3.
Well, I don't think the make-up's all that big a deal. I imagine we'll see a finished look. But on the whole, I think the Two-Face thing will be left as a cliffhanger, but I wonder what the extent of his activities will be.

I think it's entirely possible that we'll see Two-Face kill Salvatore Maroni ala THE LONG HALLOWEEN as an end-cap on the film, after the Joker has already been captured. It would be a post-climax final twist, giving his arc some resolution.

Wow I take a 4 hour drive across the state of Iowa and Rory's made enemies with half the board. Am I the only noob to not be flamed yet? Don't worry if it come my way I'll take my lumps.

Anyways back to Batman and TDK. As I said earlier I would love the Two Face reveal and then BAM go to black as the movie ends simply because that builds anticipation for the next movie in my book. I'd also love to see the doctor's come back and he's missing from his hospital bed, either way end with Two Face so everyone, general public, understands he's the next, although tragic, rogue.

I think Rory is right though.

Chuckles and Gentle Voice = Joker. From what I have read I would take a guess that Maroni sets up the bankjob and either hires Joker or Joker just finds out about it and acts like he's been hired. Then he kills all the other goons and leaves the bank with all the money and double crosses Maroni.

I have read these things over and over and there are definitely multiple names for the same character. Here are a few I am pretty certain of:

Kennedy = Wayne
Avenger = Batman
Gannon = Dent
The Chief = Gordon (possibly Loeb but I doubt it)
Natascha = Bruce's new random 1 scene bimbo
The Prisoner= Joker
Chuckles = Joker
Gentle Voice = Joker
Voice = Joker
Randolph = Loeb
Wuertz = Flass
Faulkner = Wayne
Prosecutor = Dawes (lots of you will probably think Dent but I have a reason to think this is Dawes)

Randolph could be Loeb. Really easily, actually. That might explain some things, Wikum... as well as how Gordon becomes police chief.

Prosecutor = Dawes (lots of you will probably think Dent but I have a reason to think this is Dawes)
Why? I have a hard time believing it's Dawes.
