The Dark Knight TDK Casting Sides

somehow i highly doubt the Joker will get into the cave and Alfred helps him dress like Batman. The side is fake. It's called a "hoax"

does anyone else remember way back when during Begins production someone found a "call sheet" for a shooting day and they had T. Welling on cue for a role named "C.K."

Looked real as hell. Copied and scanned in. But we all know how that turned out. I wouldn't be suprised if this is the same person.

The big budget comic-based films that are generally more successful (X-men, Spider-man series) have a dedicated fanbase with filmmakers that reach out (via online interviews, convention appearances, MySpace accounts). Neither Chris Nolan nor Christian Bale view the internet (Nolan has been quoted in another thread that he doesn't have a cellphone!), and both appear to be very reclusive (as seen by 2004's Comic-Con vidcast appearance). The only TDK member with strong ties to the comic-based community is Goyer (which is why he hosted the BB panel in 2004's Comic-Con).

WB need to find a way to build relations with fans, hence the idea of hidden messages, etc.

Just a thought...

We're supposed to be getting the teaser in late summer with either Oceans 13 or the new Harry Potter joint. I don't understand what the "hidden message" is reffering to. If any ...

Honestly, I seriously doubt there'll be a teaser trailer at this year's Comic-Con, and the first footage we'll see will be at the end of the year.

In 2004, the teaser trailer in July was made for the fans, with the December trailer designed for the general public. The teaser was designed to remove all thoughts of B&R, as well as testing audiences desires to see another Batman film.

For TDK, a teaser trailer in July is not necessary. SM3 had a teaser in July to promote one of the most expensive films ever ($258M!), start the campaign against unbelievable competition (Shrek 3 and POTC), AND avoid the mistakes ANOTHER expensive comic-film made (SR). TDK has awareness, will NEVER exceed SM3's budget, and isn't facing serious direct competetion next year (July 18th).

The most likely scenario for this summer (maybe Comic-Con?) - a screening of a small scene from TDK, and the official release of a Joker picture (possible teaser poster).

I'm sure we will get the teaser with the tent pole WB films of the summer that I mentioned. Not to mention he gave no footage at Comic Son San Diego in 2004, but not 2 months later Nolan personally showed quite a few different scenes and what would become the teaser trailer released that december to a select crowd at Comic Con Chicago in 2004. We will definetely be getting plenty of things to chew on this summer.

Maybe that was a message from Nolan to his intern? :ninja:

i wuold hope they release a pic of the joker by december. for their marketing, the last thing want to do is hide him.

I can tell you for certain that that "side" wasn't apart of the original group that we saw. Something isn't right here.

A fake sounding side from April Fool's day with a hidden message in it? Hmmmm...... use your noodles
.

No. I agree. It is fishey. bUt it appeared on the casting sight that Miranda got the others on. I think it is still up. Every one said it was fake. I thought it just sounded strange. Than I gound I caught the See you...

December looks to be huge sounding

We were all right there when those sides went up, and I'm telling you, I don't remember seeing this one.

it is also possible that these sides have less than nothing to do with the actual film and are a big red herring for nosey fans. It wouldnt seem like they'd care THAT much about throwing us off, but after the Begins Script leak im sure that they're paying closer attention to what gets out and how legit it is.
