Don't we have a thread like this already?

Of course it has been better so far

I never really knew about Batman Begins till like May of 2005.

I think it is obviously MUCH better than BB's. The majority of the hype I remember in the months before BB came out was online in message boards and movie websites like SHH. I dont remember seeing too many TV commercials or trailers. The marketing they are doing for TDK so far is pretty genius. Hopefully it will pick up in the next month or so when we get a teaser. I created this thread because im just a little curious to see if anyone actually thinks BB's marketing (or lack thereof) is a better idea to kind of keep the movie more of a fan-oriented film. I can just see some people saying that Warner Bros is "selling out" by mass marketing TDK so early.

This one will practically sell itself. Faith has been injected back into the Batman franchise.

So far... But Begins marketing was horrendous. A lifelong Batman fan, I didn't even know about the movie until months before it came out...

I agree. Even with how little BB made in comparison to what it SHOULD have made, I think it was still a rather large success and people recognize that. Therefore, along with that and the marketing they are doing for TDK currently, TDK should be a big hit.

Really? That honestly surprises me. BOF is what got me back into the Batman film franchise after the ****hole that is/was B&R. I remember back when they had planned to do Batman VS Superman, then it was Batman: Year One, and then finally Batman Begins. Im a lifelong Batman fan too and I was anticipating Batman Begins before it even went into pre-production, lol.

Yes I know, I created it. I was being sarcastic. I dont wanna call that person out and then have this thread go completely off topic and turn into a flame war, lol. I can picture it "How can you possibly think TDK's marketing isnt better than BB's? Are you a moron??" And then arguing ensues and everyone calls each other stupid and then everyone forgets to stay on topic and blah blah blah. We've all seen it.....

Batman used to be one of the biggest franchises around. It broke several records including opening weekends like 3 times. Batman begins is one of the best superhero movies ever made maybe the best. Batman will return to its former glory.

I dunno......I mean, the ONLY real marketing has been the Joker viral marketing thing.

But, what the hell.....that alone beats everything WB did to market Batman Begins.

I agree with the majority in that BB could've been marketed better. But I think given the circumstances that BB was the first Batman movie in 8 years and the last Batman movie was the ABSOLUTELY TERRIBLE B&R, it is understandable that they didnt have a huge, early, marketing campaign like they are doing currently with TDK. Besides the people who didnt know that BB wasnt connected story-wise or continuity-wise to the prevoious Burton/Schumacher Bat-films, I think most people walking out of BB knew there was going to be a sequel with the Joker in it. That alone will boost ticket sales for TDK, so the fact that they are marketing it this early is excellent.

Not really. What about the pictures of the Bat-suit and Bat-pod that were just recently released??? And even if you dont count that, we should be seeing a teaser pretty soon...

If the teaser trailer will be with HP and will be better than teaser for BB which really s***** it'll be true. But yeah, is better. Dent/Joker campaign, Ledger's cast, many pics from the set, many spoilers, many b********... BETTER THAN EVER! :joker:

Well, we gotta remember. WB DECIDED to do it that with Batman Begins. It wasn't that they ran out of money, or suddenly forgot.

They planned it out that way. Agree or disagree it was smart, but...it was on purpose. I think they're going to approach this film's marketing in a completely different manner.

B/c of the success of Batman Begins, and because the Joker is in it. Arguably the greatest supervillian of all time.

I dunno.....I mean, we got that with Batman Begins too. Pictures, and a website with teaser pics and a teaser poster. Nothing new, in terms of marketing I think. The Joker viral marketing campaign stands out in an insane way I think, and easily tops a number of the things they tried to market Batman Begins.

What stands out is the promo pics they've released, especially this early in the game. I remember when BB put out pics, it was basically just character head-shots. Nice to see what the actors look like, but all in all....boring.

So far we've gotten a ominously-lit Joker, another that slyly covers his features with glass, a kick-ass armored Batman, and now his strange vehicles. The quality in the photographs is also top-notch compared to before.
