The Dark Knight TDK Talk Show Appearances

MSwift mentioned Bale but we can add Gyllenhal and Freeman to the list.

In my DirecTV guide, it says that Bale will be on the Today show Monday July 14th.

So these are the talk show appearances so far?

7/14 Gary Oldman on Late Night w/Conan and The View
7/15 Morgan Freeman, The Today Show
7/15 Michael Caine & Morgan Freeman, The View
7/15 Aaron Eckhart, Late Show/Letterman
7/16 Maggie Gyllenhaal,The Today Show
7/16 Maggie Gyllenhaal, Late Show/Letterman
7/17 Maggie Gyllenhaal, Regis and Kelly
7/17 Aaron Eckhart, Late Night w/Conan

Why would she go live on the day the movie is getting released??

Um some actors go on talk shows when the movie gets released it's not uncommon.

Who gives a **** if your not hollywood or not, doing this type of stuff is being professional.

You can see that Bale got around quite a bit for Begins--doing some talk shows, cons and premieres allover the world. He has also been interviewed by at least twenty magazines I've seen so far for the dark knight as well as on screen interviews.

He is also in the process of completing filming on 'Public Enemies' and 'Terminator 4' --no doubt trying to speed things up before the actor's strike (which seems quite imminent at this time) I think it's a little harsh and rude to assume he is avoiding promotions of TDK because he is an jerk. Seriously.

Why no Bale? :csad:

Isnt he filming "Terminator 4"? Maybe thats why he cant do these appearances. And he has done quite a few interviews for the movie. Its not like he has to do everything. Michael Caine hasn't done that many interviews on the movie, compared to Gary Oldman or Bale.

who said he is a jerk?

"Jerk" was my way of translating how the eye roll posts and comments stating assumptions that he can't be bothered or shouldn't be an actor if he doesn't do a line up of TDK talk show press come off. I was stating in my reply there are other factors in play here. He is committed to others movies right now and the threat of a strike is making a lot of people buckle down and get things secured while they can. I clearly don't think the man is a jerk--I can understand he is a busy, working actor with other jobs besides TDK.

Bale doesn't do talk show stuff..i've been following his work for some time and you could only seen him with Charlie Rose (where I hope he goes to this time around too) and a British talk show back in 2002. He seems like a reserved person and that's what I like about him too. Moreover, I think he's been filming Terminator these days. However i really wouldn't mind seeing the man on some show because I love watching and listening to him XDD

Why no Bale? :csad:

He's the Goddamn Batman and may do as he pleases...actually I wanna see Bale's Batman vs the Goddamn Batman, that would be fun. :yay:

Also, it's nice to not see a celebrity out pimping himself if he doesn't feel like it. His job is done, he filmed the movie. Let the other guys who like it go talk about the things we already know and read about a thousand times.

Exactly. He is an actor. If it was required of him, then he'd be there. So obviously it isn't required of him. He puts a lot into the roles, so surely we can forgive him not doing the Talk Show circuit.

Understandable that Bale can do as he pleases, but couldn't he just pimp himself out a little to promote the thing? Or his he already busy with Terminator?

I believe Bale is busy filming projects. Awareness of TDK is all around. It will be difficult to go anywhere in the next few weeks without seeing Batman and Batman related things. I believe their is such a thing as "too much".

Also, I think most people (interviewers) will want to ask about Heath Ledger. And from what I've read in print, Bale isn't comfortable talking about that. It's all understandable.

I suspect one or more of the cast will appear on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross.

Late Night with Conan O'Brien is the only one that can be seen here in Finland. Oh well, I guess all of those interviews are going to end up on youtube so I can check them out afterwards. After all, I have the entire week to watch interviews cuz the movie doesn't open here until July 25th...

Thanks for the heads up!

They show Letterman here sometimes, I can just never remember what channel it is on :p

For every Brit here, somebody is most likely going to appear on Jonathan Ross. This is only me guessing though.
It's the last in the series next friday so no, unfortunately.
