Transformers Teaser Trailer

That doesn't answer the question at all.

Cartoon origin from Wiki:

This series began with a three-episode story, later titled either More than Meets the Eye or Arrival from Cybertron. In this incarnation the planet Cybertron is running low on energy. The Heroic Autobots, led by Optimus Prime, set out in space to search for more energy but are attacked by the Evil Decepticons led by Megatron. Both factions crash on Earth and lie in suspended animation for the next four million years. Awakened by a volcanic eruption, the computer on board, Teletraan I, begins repairing Decepticons and Autobots. The Decepticons set out to plunder Earth's energy resources in order to have the energy to conquer Cybertron. The Autobots seek to prevent this and so the battle is renewed on Earth, Cybertron and across space.

The only thing it leaves out is that Teletraan sends out probes to scan for technology on which to base the Transformers it is going to repair. The Transformers could transform into futuristic vehicles before they left Cybertron, but now they would be able to blend in on present day Earth since the technology copied by Teletraan was cars, planes, and other Earth vehicles/devices.

If you've never watched the cartoon, or know anything about Transformers, and you're a fan of awesome 80's cartoons, then you should definitely watch the old episodes.

Now THAT answers the question :) Thanks. I did catch a little bit of the 80s toons and the movies but I was really young, heh... I was hooked on beast wars for a while >.> The new transformer shows seem.. uh.. like ABOMINATIONS. :/

I don't quite see what everyone's gettin so worked up about.

I mean, it's not even a teaser.

It says "Announcement Teaser".

It's like a teaser for a teaser.

Something Spidey 3 didn't have.

If you're gonna compare teasers, wait until the teaser is out!

Oh come on ! Announcement BS, you don't announce a film that's in current production, otherwise why not an Iron Man announcement teaser already if stock shots and shadows suffice ?

I even said on my blog that this trailer is far inferior to the Spider-Man 3. Isn't ANY kind of trailer suppsoed to ecite you and want you to see the film? This didn't

However on the other hand, there have been leaked versions, and it's a pretty good trailer, for a teaser trailer, but the Spider-Man 3 one was better I think.

Have a look at my blog through the link for 22 screenshots :o

its probly 0% footage from the actual film.

you are correct, and that is Bumblebee behind the lensflare, they just started shooting in May, so they really have nothing to show as of yet, they will have more by the end of the year for a better teaser or trailer...

How do you know that's Bumblebee? Why would an Autobot smash a rover for no reason?

That is the first model that they have completed in CGI...

I doubt it, especially since the TF in the trailer looks nothing like the life size model of Bumblebee in leaked photographs. I mean at the very least his head and arm kibble would match up even if the endoskeleton didn't.

it's not Bumblebee in the trailer. My guess is that it's not one of the Autobots. It is probably Megatron

I'm thinking it's supposed to be Megatron. But if it was Bumblebee, he wouldn't necessarily be smashing the rover. He could just be trying to pick it up and crush it. Rovers aren't the most sturdy looking things.

It kinda looks like the Iron Giant to me. I'm not kidding. If you pause it... it's totally him.

I would have rather seen a foot or something, and that's it. That would have been a lot more dramatic... and coherent.

I also don't get the point of the Mars/Beagle thing. That we shouldn't be sending probes to other planets? What's Bay trying to say? Thought-provoking??? I dunno.... the ancient-machines buried in a volcano (original story) just seemed so much more thought-provoking. This "teaser" has no point... except for a "gee whiz" effect.

God I hope Spielberg seizes this movie from Bay and saves it (which he's been rumored to do whenever he Exec Produces).

Wait a minnit... does that mean the 'formers now come from Mars, or they're just using the Red Planet as a basis? I wanna see Cybertron.

hmm just a theory from a non TF fan maybe the whole thing with the mars rover is what alerts the bots to earth

Mars is probably a stepping-stone to Earth, or perhaps they went there hoping to conquer/make peace with the Martians but find they're extinct and see Earth.

Cybertron would cost an insane amount to show.

I thought Bay said that they were going to have Cybertron in it for sure?

Thats prob true but they could at least to a slide show or something to the events leading up to them landing on earth.
