TED (Seth MacFarlane / Mark Wahlberg / Mila Kunis)

People started hating on MacFarlane when Family Guy went from a cult hit to mainstream success. The same people who trash MacFarlane now are the same ones who 10 years ago thought he was better than Matt Groening.

For me, I didn't think he was better than Groening. The first three seasons of FG comprised some of the funniest moments ever on TV, and most of all, the humor had a point. But when Fox realized the show was a cash cow and revived it for good, the quality took a HUGE nosedive. Now I don't watch the new episodes anymore, it just isn't what it used to be. It relies too much on random, protracted pop-culture flashbacks that aren't funny, and shock humor just to push the FCC limit.

Ted just doesn't look that funny.

i think it looks funny but i was always more of a south park fan i still think it is funnier even tho both have taken a nosedive in content

This is so stupid. I have zero interest in this film. It seems typical so many people would find this funny. And maybe it would be funny if they had a better comedian playing Mark's role. But I see the trailers and the ads and I just roll my eyes. The bear looks great though, animation wise.

Pretty sure Whalberg is playing the straight man. Doesn't require a comedian.

He was great in The Other Guys. This role seems like a more amped up version of that.

-DOOM :doom:

yeah I actually prefer him in comedies, he was great in the other guys. however this opinion might be attributed to my inability to take him seriously. he'll always be marky mark to me.

I'm really looking forward to this. :woot:

Me too.

Can't help it but I love McFarlane. I know it's not the most intelligent stuff out there (not the dumbest either), but damn if he doesn't make me laugh. Which of course is what matters the most here in the end. :)

I don't have to think too much but it doesn't dumb me down either and his heart always feels in it.

See, with Macfarlane's stuff, he throws so much risque **** at you some people don't catch the insanely clever stuff you actually have to have read a book to get most of the time.

I'm looking forward to seeing Mila Kunis in this movie, although I'll probably catch this on DVD. She is one of my favorite actress in Hollywood right now, and I found her alluring appearance and take-charge personality extremely sexy.

And she speaks fluent Russian... that's a plus. But her Boston accent is laughably bad. But if she had just talked in her normal 'Meg' voice, I couldn't take her seriously.

Mila's really attractive, but it's hilarious to see her without eyebrows.

She looks like a worn out porn star in that one.
