Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

I am excited that we got a trailer yesterday.
But, I am disappointed that we have to wait until the next trailer to find out what the story of the film is.

I mean, we got about as much of the story as we need. Lets not have another Genisys mistake.

What's the deal with Arnold in this? Is he a human who gets captured and copied by Skynet to be the basis of the T-800s? Or is he playing an aged Terminator like he did in the last movie?
They have not told us, yet.

Too bad Genysis kind of screwed the hype for this.

Had this been the only Terminator sequel released since Salvation, the hype for Arnold and Linda Hamilton back would be through the roof. Even the marketing doesn’t care Arnold is here after Genysis.

That was exactly my thought.... i liked seeing Linda, when i saw Arnold i didn't think anything at all.... which only when i thought about it some time later made me annoyed that it should have been more.

The Villian looks random, i guess that's the whole point, it could be anyone... i felt there was too much cgi and not enough to care for the other characters..... uncanny how arnie still looks great

Can we use this with Thanks Genysis.

I don't quite hate Genisys. The story isn't too bad. But mother of god, it was killed by a complete lack of talent. Jai Courtney and Emilia Clarke have like negative talent.

Of course, ruining the twist in your promotions doesn't help.

I’ve struggled to get interested for the latest Terminator films after the spate of disappointments since T2. I knew pretty much nothing about this one till I saw the trailer recently and seeing Linda Hamilton is enough to make me want to give this a chance however the film turns out.

So after watching the trailer twice (watched it once, then had some time to absorb it and then saw it again yesterday) I don't think the trailer looks great, but i don't think it looks terrible.. it's in that "OK" territory for me. I'm still cautiously optimistic and I will probably get burned, but I've seen interviews with Tim Miller and Cameron and it just feels like they're saying the right things to keep my hope alive for a bit more at least. "This will be different and more in the spirit of T1 and T2". I get that the trailer doesn't really show us that, but it was also a trailer focused on spectacle and we didn't really get much in terms of story.

What I'm getting so far and my guess for all this is that Natalia Reyes seems to be the new John Connor, maybe for whatever -plot reasons- there's been a change in history and John Connor is no longer a big threat (maybe he's dead but he doesn't seem to have a big role with the little we've heard) and Mackenzie Davis is the good terminator sent back to protect her. Gabriel Luna is the bad guy and I have a feeling maybe Sarah Connor won't show up for the first 45 minutes or so and that appearance on the highway is her entrance. How Arnie figures in, no idea, but I love Arnold so I hope we get something cool. I think the concept of an aging Terminator is interesting and sadly Genisys didn't get into it that much, but it's still an interesting idea.

Overall I think Gabriel Luna looks pretty good as a terminator, to me he has that look of a terminator. Not a super fan of them always having to come up with new terminator robots though, IMO we haven't had a truly good one since the T1000. Don't care much about him being hit and flipping away like it's a superhero movie, I mean remember that fight at the mall between Arnie and the T1000 in T2? That felt like two machines fighting.

The chassis of the Rev9 is better than TX or Connor hybrid, that's for sure. Looks more along the line of other Terminators we have seen. And I do like that they are going with a gun metal look for both the chassis and the liquid metal, to separate it from other Terminators we have seen.

Great post. in T2 they did look heavy, clunky, machine like... I think the scenes they chose of linda were too.... they would probably be better suited to being revealed in the film or at least, edit the trailer so we don't see it exactly how it'll be in the movie, you know, the slow pan up the body and firing away however i liked how it kinda resembled t800 in t2 when john connor thought he was coming to get him, not save him. Also the line 'who are you' and the look she gives... i hope that's not how it plays in the film as it looks too on the nose like "i'm sarah connor *****".

But i am glad Sarah is involved, she's the franchise with arnie.

Eh R rated and being a, from what I can tell, mediocre movie is still a mediocre movie.
Rating doesn't really matter to me in this case. TS and TG weren't bad because they weren't rated R. They were bad because the story, acting and direction were poor.
