Action-Adventure Terminator: Dark Fate

Karen has become a catch all joke name to describe a certain type of woman aged about very late 40's to mid 60's often with a short hair cut. In memes and such this a white woman who is a pushy and entitled thoroughly middle class suburban type. Humor including the name usually centers around the Karen character being a nightmare for those in service industries or retail with the go to phrase "I want to talk to your manager" being in the mix somewhere.

Just been watching back the two trailers for Genysis and the trailer for DF could be their twin, the shot selection, the camera framing, the titles, this looks so much more like a continuation rather than a re-set.

And the dude equivalent is "Todd" or "Dustin"..."Colin" is also acceptable

I wouldn't be surprised if by the end of this marketing campaign , people will be convinced that Cameron wrote and directed Dark Fate.
Cameron did NOT write this film.
Yes, he is producing the movie.
He has a a (story by) credit which he shares with two other writers.
But, the screenplay was written by three other writers,
If the film is successful, Cameron will get all of the credit.
If it fails, Tim Miller will get all of the blame.

Just watched the teaser. Can't help but to notice that the cover of Hunter sounds like the guy was extremely bored while singing it when compared to the original version.

It amazes me how Cameron used the boot strap paradox to make the first film, still doesn't seem to know or understand it. Maybe he just ignores it because he thinks it means he can't make more films, I don't know. But the idea that the other films "changed" things never made sense when the only way John Connor can be born is if Reese and Sarah bang.

The original version is downright creepy.

Karen also routinely steals other people's food from the breakroom refrigerator. :argh:

Terminator: Dark Fate Is Rated R And Continues John Connor's Story, James Cameron Confirms

I think the best way to think about Terminator: Dark Fate is to think about it as a direct sequel to Terminator 2, the third film in a series, if you will. We'll be continuing with Sarah's story, John's story, and the T-800 returns -- a different T-800 with a very different role to play than what we've seen before.

I think, tonally, what makes this a direct sequel to T1 and T2 is as much about the tone as it is about the narrative: It’s R rated, it’s grim, it’s gritty, it’s fast, it’s intense, it’s very linear. The whole story takes place in 36 hours. It’s not this kind of grandiose, complex story. It’s just very focused on the characters, it’s very now, it’s very present and it’s just a fast white-knuckle ride.

The principle of our movie is that there's an inevitable conflict between humans and the intelligent machines that they make. And all [Sarah Connor has] done is kick the can down the road from her future back in the '80s to our future now in 2019. Judgment Day is right around the corner, yet again. It's an inevitability. So she's kicked the can, she's going to have to try to kick it again and again. The war never ends. So Sarah has become a Terminator hunter. She’s not waiting to be hunted by a Terminator, she hunts them. She’s figured out a way to be there when they pop through time and she just blows their **** away.

I would love it if they incorporated some of the time war aspects of SCC.

And bring back Derek Reese.

It was shocking to me how much the first trailer for this film looked like Gensisys. It was almost like no one is aware of that movie and all its mistakes.

Both seem to suffer from marvelitis. It's not really Dark Fate looking like Genisys, but more like both aping style of present day superhero films.

It's surprising because Tim Miller made one of the better and more refreshing superhero movies in recent memory. I mean Deadpool wasn't exactly the anti-superhero movie, but it worked very well because Deadpool was able to do a lot of things most Marvel films could not. It gave the film an edge.

I mean...
