Is it cheaper to use a CGI arm than a practical one or something?

Does a multi-million dollar special effects movie with a built in fan base NEED an excuse to go cheaper?

Sooo im guessing that was the time machine that we get a glimpse of...does anybody want to get a screen shot and speculate why there is loads of people standing in it and around????

i think it is cheaper if they would just make one cgi arm and leave it alone. but they will change things from december until the last week. because of all the changes it could get a lot more expensive.

the difference between the 90's and 2010-2014 is that CGI got so good that you can erase everything out. you can have a puppeteer standing next to Arnold and use wires or his arms to move the robotic arm. he can be full in frame. and with modern technology they can erase him from the frame.

this was done on an extreme low budget. but look how much they had to erase out of the frame .

I dunno, but that was the only shot I liked from this little tease, mainly because I didn't know what the heck I was looking at, lol. But it at least intrigued me. All the other shots, not so much.

the T-1000 looked fine i thought. effects looked close to T2 T-1000. but that shot at the end with Arnold, his robotic arm looked totally CGI. would have been better to use an actual robotic arm like in the first two films.

anyway, from the little i saw it looked promising. i am just glad that Arnold is back

Resistance soldiers who captured it and are sending Reese and the good T-800 back?

If you slow down the scene of the "time machine" you will see that they are not only standing in front of a machine surrounded by spot lights but are actually within a giant room made of the same pattern the center piece is made from that surrounds the spot lights also. Very confusing.

I Would get a screen cap but im too lazy.

Perhaps. I don't know how much time will be spent on showing that arm. But, it's clear they used that to drum up the nostalgia of old fans. So, it's odd they would use CGI for that to increase interest.

And this is just something about trailers in general, but I don't see why they don't schedule to shoot and make these scenes as early as possible so it can look good in the trailer at least. All the time, trailers are released and people complain about the CGI.

The more I look at the teaser and the more I think this guy will be the new T-1000:

The role he's playing is yet to be announced. He looks a lil bit like Robert, don't you think?

i think Storm Shadow from GI Joe is playing the t1000

So what if he's Asian?! Lee Byung-hun is awesome.

Erm but he's asian...

^^that guy above looks very much like Patrick in the eyes.
Lee Byung-hun looks as much like Robert Patrick as Jai Courtney looks like Michael Beihn.

This film is reboot despite having arnold as terminator.

Lee Byung-hun could totally be same character that robert Patrick played In T2.

Star Trek Into Darkness changed Khan into total white guy despite the fact if you with idea time travel at begining of trek 2009 changed history Khan should still be same race and history as before.

It's not about race but if he's playing the same character he should at least look the same...

Should have cast the The Rock or John Cena as the T-800!
