Terminator: Genisys - Part 6

Would I be correct in the assumption that [blackout]the romantic angle is forced unlike the first movie which despite the short amount of time together felt natural[/blackout]?

Yes. [Blackout]Their kiss at the end was because you know "destiny".[/blackout]:whatever: Came out of nowhere.

Having known about almost every detail for months, I thought nothing would surprise me but I didn't know about the [BLACKOUT]T-600 that almost attacked Kyle in the future[/BLACKOUT]. That was pretty cool.

That scene alone dismisses Salvation for anyone wondering.

I always thought people thought that die hard 3 was legit good while 2 was just the okay one.

I agree.

While Die Hard 2 only has one great scene (the grenades in the cockpit).

Die Hard 3 has a few.

If anything, this does far more damage to the brand than T3 or Salvation did. They MAJORLY screw with established canon and undo the events of the first two films.

I see your point. But to be fair, it's not like this movie is physically destroying every copy of T1 and T2 out there. People can still watch them and enjoy them.

Alan Taylor's last two movie credits include "Thor:The Dark World" and this one.

Don't think any studio will contact him ever again for any of their major franchise's.

Nah he will still get work because Thor made money. All you have to have is one hit film on your resume and you are set for a long time in Hollywood.

This is pretty much how I feel. I remember when Days of Future Past came out and people were so thrilled that the movie "undid" X-Men 3, but while I liked the upbeat feeling of the ending and seeing some of the old faces back, it didn't matter that much to me. I could just appreciate the good X-Men movies and don't care about the events of X3.

T1 and T2 will forever be classics, and T2 will probably always have a spot in my top10 favorite movies. But when judging the sequels, I have always just looked at them as their own movies. T3 was fairly bland, Salvation was not good, and Genisys was not half bad. It had some good stuff, and overall it did feel like a Terminator movie, which I didn't get as much from the previous two. While I did have problems with some of it, the fact that it "changed history" is just not a big deal. You can always watch T1 and T2 and love them for what they are, Genisys takes nothing away from that.

The Wachowskis have been milking the fact that they made The Matrix trilogy for over a decade.

They keep getting 175 m dollar budgets for movies that end up being flops over and over.

I'm not ready to take anything as given yet regarding the quality. RT only has about 10 reviews counted so that's too little to truly go on at this point...but so far it's not looking good for it. Hard to imagine though that it'll be worse than TS. I still think TS will remain the floor for this franchise.

I hear this goes back and destroys everything the first two had in place. Why would you **** with that mythology? Cameron gets the rights back in three years and now I wonder how much he was paid for saying good things about this.

How come so many here have seen it? I thought it opened next weekend.

It opened in Europe already or at least select countries.

Oh he'll get work definitely but I somehow don't think studios will trust him with these huge blockbusters they have anymore.

I was thinking about Wachowskis as well. The poster people for not having anything resembling a hit in years and years and yet 175mil Jupiter Ascending came out just this years. WB are very loyal to their talent but even I think Jupiter Ascending might be the last straw.

I think this film is going to disappoint at the box office but he'll get more chances with big budget fair.

You gotta be kidding me.

I'm serious.
At Cyberdime or what ever you spell it has been developing liquid metal and you actually see the machines tryingbto form a human body out of it. At the climax, the T-800 is fighting John inside the time travel machine whilst Kyle and Sarah and escape. Pretty cool scene ill admit but then you see the T-800 tossed outside the machine and into the pool of liquid metal and sinks in there. When Kyle and Sarah are hiding in a vault, you see liquid metal hinges opening the door (similar to what the T-1000 did in T2 when it was opening the elevator at the mental institute) and then the T-800 walks in. I was like F******K YOU!!!!!!!

Jupiter Ascending is a train wreck, and the Matrix sequels were huge disappointments, but I would put Cloud Atlas up there among my favorite movies without hesitation. That movie was glorious. Sadly, a flop financially, but what a great film.

I wouldn't say it's atrocious.

I don't hate it like I do T3, it's just there.

Terminator Genisys is a movie.

I am no fan of Terminator 3, but at least that has a few half decent action sequences and Stahl and Danes were given a little something to do besides pose in literally predestined but unearned roles.
