Terminator: Genisys - Part 8

I really don't see where they can go from here. There's only so many times you can recycle the "protecting John/Sarah Connor" storyline IMO. Also, with Arnold now being a T-1000, where will the suspense be? What made T2 great was the fact that he was an inferior model. Now that he's effectively the apex predator of the terminators, that suspense will no longer be there.

The type of Terminator JC was in Genisys was far superior to the T-1000 in my eyes, and Matt Smith was even more advanced than that so I think there is still plenty they can do to up the threat. The story is something I would be more concerned with for the sequel, they need to get better writers and a better director.

Damn it, China. First you saved Pacific Rim's box office and now you're propping this turd up?

Quite frankly I don't wanna see a sequel. Let the franchise rest for a while. I'm really surprised people want to see a sequel to this.

If China helps TG go past $450 million WW then this will definitely get a sequel. If it has legs & performs like the three films that had higher grosses than it on their opening day in China, it'll end up being slightly more profitable than anyone thought it would be.

Love to see how they explain why Arnold still looks old if he's a mix of T-1000 now.

Perhaps in the film they say they Arnie T 800 is too recognisable to be an effective infiltrator so he constantly shape shifts into other people. Or perhaps they will save the default Arnie look for the quieter moments in the film and he shape shifts for the action scenes.

I dunno..I hope the sequel doesn't happen

Stop it, China! I know you're excited the Hollywood blackout is over but save your money for Rogue Nation. Better for you, better for the world. :oldrazz:

Well, they could either use the de-aging effect they used in Genisys or just say he was used to that elderley appearance so he kept it.

If Skynet is smart they make sure they but an off swith on those pesky T800 models, an offswitch only Skynet can use.

Maybe they'll use a sequel to reboot the reboot. It's not like the timeline makes sense anymore anyways.

Just. Let. This. Franchise. Die.

Yea I dont get it, the director and everyone involved in genysis screwed up the potential for better overall story. If these same idiots all come back I dont know how anyone can expect less then mediocre. They couldnt get there heads out pf there own arses to realize matt smiths character would have been a far more interesting villian then connor.

People want a sequel to have just one question answered: Who sent the Guardian back?

There's no way the studio is just gonna say that they're gonna continue on with the sequels as planned before TG's release without looking at how it performed domestically. It's too much of a discrepancy between domestic and worldwide to be ignored. If the numbers were what San Andreas made, then the sequels would be more justifiable.

I actually think there is more story that can be told, but domestic numbers aren't as important as they once were and if this does $100 million in China I can see them making another one.

More story that anyone will care about? China doesn't seem to care about story here, but the US seems to.

Perhaps domestic numbers don't matter as much, but we're talking about a movie that's looking to cross 400M worldwide when it might not even crack 90M domestically. Add to that the fact that it's the worst reviewed film in the franchise. If a sequel does get made, I can't see them continuing with the same story plan they had before TG was released.
