Terminator: Genisys - Part 8

It is strange, surely it's getting a release there? I think without a good BO take in China any hopes of a sequel are done. The BO had a big drop both domestically and internationally this weekend and with more movies due out over the next few weeks Genysis is going to struggle to make much more.

Are there any graphic artist in here? I have an idea for a chart/graph that would illustrate the timelines from the very first movie to Genisys but I'm not good at making graphs so any help from in here?

I'm one, hit me a PM and I'll see if I can help.

Interesting. I just don't get though why they needed to create a completely cgi body for the 1984 Terminator. Why not hire a bodybuilder with similar physique and height as Arnold, and just swap the face digitally. That way, there would have been some real weight to the running and moving and fighting with the old Arnold. And it would have looked more real. Would think it's cheaper to do then rendering everything with cgi. Meh.
do you really think in 2015 they can not render a realistic running body? they can. it looked fake because the producers in hollywood are right now obsessed with cartoony saturday morning action scenes. it has to look funny to a 5 year old kid. :cwink:

today they can animate a human body without thinking about physics.after that they have software where they type in the height and weight of human body and over 12-24 hours the computer calculates how the body would move with that height and weight.

i agree that they should used a real body. they said that its fully CGI because they wanted the exact body that Arnold had in the 1984 movie. but that cost money. extra money and noone cares that it was full cgi. the movie didnt have the biggest budget. but IMO the majority of action scenes looked cheap. of course if half the budget went into CGI Arnold. :woot:

So I went to see this for a second time today as my cousin who hadn't seen it wanted to go and watch it. Now having accepted this is crap the second time was slightly decent I guess.

Now onto the main point my cousin comes out with some classics in the cinema such as:

Did Sarah and Kyle have time travel sex when they were naked and and hugging each other?

and Jai Courtney and Emilia Clarke had time travel sex for 33 years as they went from 1984 to 2017.

:funny::doh:

and I'm thinking I wouldn't have put it past these writers and director to include some lines eluding to this.

So you're telling me I shouldn't have laughed at my cousin? :cmad::o

I think they were meant to be close but they didnt have sex, it was more when they arrived in 2017 and the car was coming toward them, Kyle put his back to the car to protect Sarah an they ended up in a......certain position :cwink:.

More to the point how were they not killed instantly when the car hit them in the middle of the road...............................unless Sarah and Kyle are the actual Terminators.........

They were still protected by the residual time displacement bubble... thing... yeah, that's the ticket.

Speaking of that car breaking, I'm surprised they didn't show the driver of the car dying or something considering the driver clearly would have been casualty of the time bubble thing.

It had mostly dissipated by the time it hit it, hence the car sending Kyle and Sarah flying a little.

Not the best source I know, but according to Wikipedia this has a release date of 23rd August for China, for the people who are interested.

I enjoyed it, wasn't the best of the bunch but still entertaining. I really liked the cast they assembled for this film. I really did not like the whole John is a baddie plot though, maybe with all the time traveling that can be changed in the sequels?

Any whoo, my new T ratings:

T1: 10/10
T2: 9/10
T3: 06/10
T4: 05/10
T5: 06/10

No one will ever call Jai a minuteman! :woot:

I think a sequel would maybe be Kyle and Sarah travelling forward in time to save John, maybe becoming the new leaders of the resistance in his place?

I can dig it.

Yeah I hope the next one is staged in the future war, lets take a break from all the time traveling.

I think that's the only logical way to go, no point in another movie of them trying to stop Skynet in the modern day.

The studio and Skydance declined to comment on the status of the Terminator sequels or a television spinoff that was announced. But one Paramount source admits the planned follow-ups aren't a given: "We will definitely need to see the holds globally to confirm that people like the film." Complicating matters, Skydance didn't cast any well-known movie stars in Genisys other than Arnold Schwarzenegger, 67, so the sequel probably would need to add a proven draw or rely again on Emilia Clarke, Jason Clarke and Jai Courtney.

"If they are going to make another one, something has to change," says MKM Partners analyst Eric Handler. "You either have to make a better film or make it cheaper. They tried to bring in elements of the first film, but it didn't work. It's going to be very difficult. They are going to have to cater to the international market."
