Why do you want more movies though? Especially after we've had three straight misfires? I'll never understand the need to want endless sequels to this franchise, that was not only never intended for such a thing but clearly had a defined endpoint with T2. It's run it's course.
Either way, the franchise isn't financial viable anymore. The idea that Cameron is going to use the rights to make money off it, is a completely misguided notion. The only way I see another film being made is if he himself wanted to direct another one but that seems extremely unlikely.
i need something that is focused on characters and where terminators kill people........and are not throwing them around the room.
T2 also had a lot of throwing (the truckers in the bar comes to mind), but it was all minor scenes, I don't remember throwing or lurking unnecesarlly the main targets (Sarah in T1, John in T2). In those movies, I can't imagine the terminators close to the targets and not being attacked head firstThe 1984 Terminator film featured the Terminator throwing people around - 2 punks, Matt the roommate's boyfriend, a random trucker...

Honestly, I found it refreshing they made John the villain, it kind of made sense.
T1, Resse is trying to save his mom so he can be born.
T2, Arnold is there to try to keep him alive as a kid.
T3, horrible movie as it was, Arnold was sent by a (shoehorned) lieutenant/wife to keep adult John alive.
Sarah Connor Chronicles, takes place pre-T3, Sarah is teaching John to be the leader he's meant to be.
T4, ........let's just not talk about that.
It's only natural the more and more trying to force someone to be something, there's a breaking point, and there's only so many times movies/shows can do the whole "We need to keep John Connor alive!" story without it becoming boring.
Find a post where I say I actually want a new Terminator movie.

How is it misguided? He's already said he loves other film makers playing in his sandbox. And he's gone on record to say he likes all three follow ups.
See you in four bud.

If you don't want a new movie, why are you so adamant about it happening?![]()
I already told you dude love, if it's just about the money as you previously stated, Cameron's not going to bother with a dead franchise that's currently losing money. Nor is he going to risk his (commercially successful) reputation by asking his studio to invest in more sequels, that won't even be directed by him.
If he's creatively motivated to direct another film himself, that's one thing. It's a longshot but I could see it but what your proposing is not only out of character for someone like Cameron, it's just bad business all around.

It's a just recreation of the T2 bar scene with WWE Superstars.
I don't want to pay my car insurance in February, but I'm pretty adamant it's going to happen.
I was f***ing livid when Terminator 3 was announced. It didn't change anything.
Look Cameron is not some bastion of cinematic quality. If he was, he wouldn't have dumbed down Project 880 to Avatar and he'd hate Alien vs Predator.
Interestingly a more recent quote than the one you gave says:
"I havent really thought that far ahead yet. Ive got plenty of time to think about it. It might be fun to completely re-invent the franchise. A lot has to do with what happens in the meantime, people may have Terminator fatigue."
On one hand yes, there's definitely fatigue, on the other Genisys is at (an un-earned) $305 million worldwide so unfortunately there's always going to be interest, since that's not an Ishtar level disaster.
See you in four. Believe me I don't want to, believe me.![]()

Well throughout the movies, while Sarah, John, and even Kate get more info to help stop the machine overtaken future, so can the machines. I don't think them planning to turn John to their side is such an out there concept.
