So I guess we are still in the pattern of GREAT 1st and 2nd installments... crappy third installment... and an equally craptacular if not more craptacular 4th installment... can't wait for Spiderman 4... :csad:

Salvation is by far, superior to T3.

I have no faith... sorry. No one gets the benefit of the doubt from me until I see the film unfortunately. But no matter how bad the reviews are for SM4 I will probably still see it. Not the case with TS.

T3 was a 3/10 for me...this was a 4/10...improvement, yes...but I wouldn't call it vast.

I really hope this is the last Terminator film after seeing...I really do.

I wanted to ask others something my gf brought to me and my friends attention as we were leaving.

Wasn't it kind of weak that the final scenes at Skynet how easily they were able to get in and out?

I know Marcus turned off one of the gun turrets to let Connor in and then when he's talking to the main computer I noticed he shuts some more things down. If so how was the
Arnold Terminator, the 1st T-800
up and running as well as the assembly line for the rest of the T-800s?

If they were still up and running as well as that T-600 watching over Kyle as he's about to be killed why wasn't there any army of T-600s guarding this place. This is one of Skynet's major complexes.

Just thought it was kind of weak that there weren't as many Terminators protecting one of their main bases.

I made the same observation earlier in the day....

Skynet showers all this attention on young Kyle Reese like they know he's John's father and when they capture him they don't kill him and end the war right there?

Better yet, they use Kyle Reese to lure John Connor into the heart of Skynet and then when you get a chance to kill John you send out ONE Terminator after him? Just ONE?!? And that one Terminator doesn't even seem to want to kill Connor. Everytime he gets his hands on him he throws him away.

And what about Marcus? Skynet let's Marcus in and monologues to him only to find out Marcus has gone "good guy" on them and they let him leave? I mean Marcus just betrays Skynet and he's on his way to save John Connor, the person it wants to kill. You're just going to let him do this and not send reinforcements to stop him?....in the heart of Skynet? Are you f**kin kidding me with this sh**?

And lastly, Skynet is going to let Marcus and an injured John Connor just walk out of the damn factory ALIVE without any resistance whatsoever? They're not even going to send ONE reinforcement or force these guys to shoot their way out? What the hell is going on here? :funny:

I thought the exact same thing, I was this close to screaming at the theater screen. I don't know how these two(Ferris and Brancato) got their script greenlit, and I don't want to know. Other than the ending, I'd love to know what Nolan changed from the original, because this script was just horrible.

 So reviews matter for TS but not for SM4?

I gotta admit when I heard about Raimi and Tobey returning I was a little disappointed.

I respect your opinion and all .. but .. woah' .. have you seen Terminator 3? Like, seriously? Did you sit through it, despite all the pain and torture? Salvation was not equally if not more craptacular.. lmfao.

At least Ahnuld kept his mouth shut from any quips/one-liners in this one. :l

Some one-liners would have been a nice break from 2 hours of screaming.

This film has taught me that most critics are ******s because this film was awesome. It's not the masterpiece that the James Cameron films are, and frankly the Terminator films never will be unless Cameron returns to the helm. However, this is the perfect summer blockbuster variation of Terminator, unlike the previous film.

Exactly! Brainless, badly written and shallow! Stupid critics....:whatever:

I've been reading too much about TS. My mind blanked on the word "vacuum line" when discussing tissue culture hood use with a grad student, and I went with "the suckinator." :lmao:

Salvation gave me a feeling no movie ever gave me. I have NEVER got the chills that bad after seeing Arnold's cameo, it was that amazing. Saw it again tonight

Also, when prisoners were in Skynet, it felt like you were there with them

I don't see the complaints about Connor screaming either. Whenever he did it seemed to fit.

I'm a bit surprised by the level of critical thrashing this movie is getting. It's not a classic, but it's not horrible either.

I was originally rooting for the movie to fail due to my hatred of McG, but I ended up liking it better than expected (I gave it a 7/10). I was not expecting a Tomatometer in the 30's.

It's getting thrashed because there is no movie here. Sure there's some eye candy, but there is no movie. On many levels this movie is even more pointless than T3 was.

Neither do I.

I thought the times he screamed was appropriate. I also didn't get any Batman voice vibes from him.

I can understand why some called it his Batman voice but that wasn't really it. Although I'm sure I'll get crap for this but that's why I like Bale. I don't think of him as this super perfect great actor but I do think he is pretty damn good. He's really subtle, I've seen a good number of his films and although he isn't a huge character actor on the level of Gary Oldamn or Johnny Depp for example, he does each character different enough to where I never see him as a subpar or average actor.

That's just my opinion on him and I know a good number of people will fully disagree.

this film was a mess. not as horrible as wolverine but you get the picture. where was the brutality that the first 2 films had? terminator films just like die hard films should be mandatory rated-R flicks. mandatory. i agree with most critics at RT and harry over at aicn that sam's acting was horrible as was that horrendous scene with the helena bonham-carter chick. where were the lasers that cameron showed us? why were terminators throwing people instead of terminating them? how does mcG find work. one more thing......bale is not A-list anything. he was just here collecting a paycheck. no effort. he should get his lights trashed. be funny if the lighting guy got an oscar nod for this film. this summer is disappointing so far. "Up" might be the best movie this summer.

Bale was the perfect fit as Connor and his voice wasnt over the top

You could have stuck any schmo in Bale's place and gotten the same performance. He didn't have to emote at all. All he had to do was be stoned face and shout the whole movie. His character in Reign of Fire (who's pretty much in the same circumstances) sh**s all over his portrayal as John Connor.
