Its not about intelligence. Its just that I get why people think the movie's awesome the way its shot and presented. Why fans here would get a kick out of it.

I don't think anyone was expecting a direct replica out of T2. But you know, some guys that knew how to tell a solid story LIKE T2 would've been nice.

Also if we aren't going to get anything that's of comparable quality to the original movies then there's NO ****ING POINT IN CONTINUING THIS TIRED FRANCHISE.

I didn't expect that. I expected to see popcorn flick, but what I got was a groanfest with some of the worst acting I've seen in a long time.

I didn't think the acting was bad at all. The acting was definitely not Oscar worthy because remember this is a Terminator action film. Bale and Worthington were solid....the rest of the cast were just there.

I was disappointed Yelchin didn't have more to work with.

This film is nowhere near Wolverine bad.

Now that was a bad film.....

SIGOURNEY WEAVER GOT AN OSCAR NOMINATION FOR ALIENS! Please give me a freaking break.

Its not about oscar caliber acting, but some solid decent acting. Heath Ledger is in your avatar. Heath Ledger got an oscar for a role in a comic book super hero action movie.

Sam Worthington couldn't even decide if he was American or Australian. It was worse than Angelina Jolie in Alexander and Tomb Raider.

Now that was a bad film.....

This was worse than Wolverine IMO. I'm not saying Wolverine was great, but I at least walked out enjoying Wolverine. Can't say the same here.

Although I'm a fan of Biehn, there is a reason why he never made it big...he's just an ok actor. Of all the films I've seen him in he never did anything that made me put him up in the 'great' category. He just did good with some badass roles.

While Hamilton was good in both films I have to admit she was a little bit over the top in T2. She still did great but some people are acting like the performances in the originals were outstanding.

The performances in TS might not be great(whether it's because of the script or just the actors) but I have a hard time thinking they're going to be that bad.

I was a journalism major and I know what the silly little game is about.

Whatever sells right? Hmm....

Maybe where you come from, but the first thing I ever learned as a journalist was integrity, quickly followed by objectivity. Perhaps that's something your mentors failed to teach you.

I'm a utilitarian, not a capitalist. I write to benefit the greatest number of people as possible, not to take money from their pockets. I let my ad manager deal with that.

So in other words, no, not right. Wrong. Dead ****ing wrong. Go back to school.

With that said, I'm not writing an article; this movie sucks.

I don't like Elfman anymore. Seriously. His score for Hellboy 2 and Wanted were so generic that I was like 'dude'.

yeah i agree he's lost his originality...

though i gotta say i loved Wanted's score.. and even his lyrical song he made for it.


things must be different here in miami but my (packed) theater loved the movie... and one could clearly tell(everyone applauded after credits) lol

Saw it, it's no where near the image I had in my head when the theatrical trailer hit, but I guess that's my own fault. I expected something more than just action, all of which was incredibly shot by the way. That's it though, in this movie there's little story, all the dialogue for Bale is kind of like Butler's in 300. Screaming screaming screaming, some grunting thrown in for kicks.

Anton Yelchin as Kyle Reese is the best character in the film.

I think Bale's best line is when he screamed at the little mute girl, "YOU MOVE NOW."

Like most of you said, it's good, just not as memorable as T1 or T2. I'm not eager to see it again anytime soon, either.

I'm so f**king curious to see this movie now. The bad buzz is making in more enticing to me but then I still haven't decided if I'm going to see it yet because I don't know if I want to pay money for a movie that pisses all over the Terminator franchise.

I don't think that's entirely the case. It really is about a 60/40 split. You get the journalists out there who bleed it out, write the stories that really matter and don't allow issues to fall into a spiral of silence.

Then you get the dirty cats who are only in it to inflate their egos and try to press their own personal agendas. They take all the gifts that come their way and have long-lasting careers. They still have their jobs but eventually their reputation is smeared and their readership/credibility is out the window.

And it's for that very reason that maintaining a code of ethics is the most important characteristic of a journalist. If you don't have credibility, then you won't have readers.

So I really feel sorry for a journalism education if it simply amounted to whatever makes the quick buck. Someone steered that guy in the wrong direction.

As a simple war movie, its not that good.

Actually, this was my main problem with the movie, it was billed as a war movie, but there was very little war in it. A couple of fight scenes, chase scenes, but no actual war like battle.

Your acting as if I viciously struck down that ending before and now I'm praising it for just the heck of it. When I've done no such thing.

He screams a lot, and does the normal action stuff.

Connor was always an McGuffin and should have stayed that way. A McGuffin that moved the plot. Creatively it made sense to introduce a new lead with no baggage or ties even if it is not what "all fans wanted". This raises the uncertainty of the character, which makes audience more invested in his future (if developed correctly). But if artists gave fans what they want, we would have a bunch of mary sues and marty stus running around.

Bale's excuse for wanting Connor over Marcus was along the lines of "I can't really remember why" http://www.newsarama.com/film/090519-terminator-christian-bale.html

I think it is pretty simple; the role is more iconic, and looks nice on the resume....
