A cool tidbit in the next movie would be the wreck of a red/blue truck with flames on it...

IMDB scores and RT scores usually are higher first few days...they drop as weeks go on and hype is gone. You can't take IMDB as a measure til about 2 months post-release.

Yikes. So apologetic it hurts. Also, since when is IMDB respected? IMDB is about as respected in the film industry as Wikipedia is respected in academia.

Show me a scientific poll that proves audiences are loving this and I will concede your point. In the mean time, don't try to write off internet polls as any more than they are.
Exactly.

I say we wait to see what the good ole boxoffice run is like to decide what the audience thinks.

Agreed. BO drop will be a better indicator.

Saw TS tonight.

As big fan of the Terminator in general, and as T2 is my 2nd favorite movie of all time, TS was definitely a step up from T3.

Bale wasn't bad. His John Connor isn't anything to be remembered. I wish they went with a different actor to be honest, but I have no further complaints regarding this.

As stated previously, no terminator film will ever come close to T2, unless Cameron has anything to do with it. Aside from that fact, this film felt a lot more like a Terminator film.

I mostly enjoyed the movie for its nostalgic factor. The Guns n Roses song was definitely one of my favorites. The Arnold CG cameo was more than I expected, but wasn't over-the-top in my opinion. I got the chills once he was revealed.

Good movie. Not amazing. Got rid of the sour taste of T3. 7.5/10

Wow I hope Arnold is in T5 as well otherwise you guys will still rip it no matter how good or bad it
is. Judging by responses, the 3rd Act is the most well received. Hopefully they go the Nolan route and make one long climax like TDK (not a bad thing) :cwink:

And with that bit of screwy inanity, I'm officially retiring from this thread. It's been fun, but one can take only so much of this and batmop's jibberings.

:woot:

I seriously feel that, most people on here who bash this movie non stop since it came out wanted to see it fail from the get go.

I hope there is another Terminator. I hope Bale screams more & louder. Along with more explosions.

Goodnight

Why would the Terminator fans want to hate a Terminator movie? I'd think my fellow fans would want to love the movie. Nobody seems to be dis-missing your opinion, they are just stating theirs. I'm glad you loved it and I hope I love it as much as you did.

What fan in their right might would WANT a product of their beloved franchise to fail? C'mon now. Unless they have very good reasons to believe it's a disaster, that just doesn't happen.

I bought into the hype, I wanted this movie to be good very much, but it just didn't click at all.

That's like saying we wanted Begins to fail after B&R :oldrazz:

I hope there's another Terminator too, but alot better than this though, and not with such a family-friendly ending and outcome. Something that can strike home and anticipating our next look at the war against the machines.

Saw it for the 2nd time...enjoyed it much more this time around. :cwink:

Out of curiousity, has any one yet given a satisfactory explanation on HOW the machines would know that a civilian (Kyle Reese) and a lowly grunt at the time (John Connor) were so important to the resistance?

I thought about this and came up with this answer.

Clearly, before Skynet destroyed the entire world, it is plausable that they archived various snippets of information about the human race across the globe.

Perhaps while scanning their databases, they stumbled upon a file about some raving woman talking about machines from the past, "Skynet," judgement day, etc.

Within those files they deciphered the names John Connor and Kyle Reese and came to the logical conclusion that these two humans are apparently vital to the human resistance and thus made it a priority to find and eliminate these threats.

Long story short...Skynet knew because they had learned about the events that occured in T1, T2 and T3 and all the major players.

That's my story and i'm sticking to it. :cwink:

Exactly. It's the same for X-Men fans who were disappointed by the Wolverine movie. It's not because they dislike Wolverine and/or Hugh Jackman, it is because the movie simply did not deliver. It appears that Terminator: Salvation has also failed to live up to expectation to its fans.

Really...he didn't scream so much IMO. I don't see what people are talking about. In fact there's many moments where he's soft spoken and in reflection.

PLUS....in T3 the TX was the one that uploading things into Skynet to start the Judgement day. All that info about John was probably downloaded

Plus....I think fans are liking the movie...its just a few vocal people that don't. I mean for example...just look at this poll. Personally I don't think these people bashing this film because of Bale. I don't think they even understand who John Connor is. He's exactly like how Sarah Connor was in T2.....but do they bash Sarah in that movie...no. They still want the little kid Connor or something.

Its strange for all its big budget stuff that none of the action sequences had the pull of any in T2.

Same here and when he did it was in the right moment, people are overreacting wayyyyyyy too much

"These films were cutting edge for their time, with everything rooted in real scientific technology, from robotics to nanotechnology with the T-1000. That's what made them so special...because everything in the Terminator films was done with practicality and with reality in mind. No cheesiness, no corniness. The Cameron Terminators weren't just "Summer fun." They were top notch, well-written dramas mixed with solid acting and state of the art special effects.

The Cameron Terminators were fun, and very cool, but incredibly cheesy.

They were nothing even approaching top notch, well written dramas.

Yeah, I forgot to mention. I did love the Guns and Roses sequence with John setting the trap. That was excellent. Great memories from T2. Bale setting everything up with that song just makes you think this guy grew up in the 90's as a kid. He still loves Guns and Roses. It would be cool for a scene to where John is listening to them by himself secluded form everyone just contemplating. Then Kate comes and and they talk.

I love Bale, though this isn't his best role, I liked him in it, it's not that I didnm't like him. But he wasn't the guy I cared about the most. It's really Marcus's movie.

But THE best scene (which is also McG's favorite) is John and Marcus face to face. Mcg pointed out how they're mirror reflections of eachother and the lighting on John made him look like a Terminator. Never noticed it, but I love that touch.

It just shows McG has the right ideas, but he doesn't execute them too well.
