I think that alot of people think it was just a meh movie. I told my sister to wait for DVD.

Really, you liked the middle part with Marcus and Moon Bloodgod and then his escape? That was essentially the middle act. Everyone I know agreed with me that John Connor entering Skynet was the best scene. It felt like Aliens and Terminator 1 & 2 in some parts. I thought the movie was saved by the last 45 to hour of the film...whatevs though...
I only didn't like the third act because it was the culmination of all that was bad in this movie and the climax was subpar as compared to the rest of the movie. The climax was just anti-climactic and filled with dumb crap. I mean Skynet has them both right there and they send Ahnold...it was just frustrating. There was no epic battle on the scale of the previous action sequences.

The Marcus stuff was good to me and I am angry that they gave away that he was a bot in the damn trailer.

Yeah, I mean, that could've been a great ****ing reveal. Shocking, surprising, and shocking, plus shocking.

I honestly thought all the Marcus stuff distracted from the better story of John Connor. someone earlier said that they should have saved the character for a sequel, and I'm inclined to agree.

I agree about Kyle being the main character in the sequel...IF there is a sequel

I hated that Marcus gave his heart to John. They spend the whole movie establishing that Marcus was more human than machine and then in the end they kill the guy to save Conner. They basically killed one human being to save another. And seeing as Marcus was a better character in the movie than John, I was sitting there thinking just let John die and keep Marcus around.

Why would John Connor allow them to kill Marcus, who just ****ing demonstrated the fact he is an incredible useful weapon, to save himself?

Common should have died to save Connor.

Oh right, ask the black man with like five lines to die to save the great white hope huh?!

Screw Common sacrificing himself for Connor. I say Kyle Reese sacrifices himself for Connor.

Then the heads of a million Terminator fanboys will explode in a Michael Bay'ish explosion of epic proportions. Than we get a camera to slowly pan over Megan Fox's svelte body till it pauses at her ass. The End.

That would be totally entertaining. :funny:

What they established was that Marcus was a murderer who deserved a second chance at redemption.

Thus he gave up his life in order to ensure the survival of the resistance.

He went out a hero...what more do you want?

They could have done a better sacrifice though IMO.

exactly.

I hate time travel and paradoxes unless it is specifically outlined to us like in Lost. They had a mediocre story built on huge action sequences and their explanations were lacking. Also, John just now found out that Reese was their #1 target. Wouldn't skynet have had Reese as their #1 when they became self aware? And, then to finally have him they don't kill him immediately was stupid.

I just assumed Reese was being held as bait.

Marcus did enough through the movie that he didn't need to give his heart at the end to redeem himself. Regardless of what he did, the other characters in the movie had no knowledge of his past that I remember. I couldn't imagine someone being in their position and being willing to kill one person that had done so much for them to save another.

This isn't about the other characters. This was Marcus' call...

He felt that this was his one real shot to redeem himself in his own eyes, not theirs.

No one forced him to do what he did. It seemed everyone was inclined to accept that Connor was going to die.

Marcus did it under his own free will and died a very heroic death. Even at the end when Connor gave him a little nod, I took that as him thanking Marcus for his sacrifice.

Wait, I'm confused. So the cops knew internal affairs was setting them up?

I agree with basically everything your saying, but I still can't imagine John being willing to take Marcus heart. And even if it was Marcus decision he couldn't remove his heart on his own. I couldn't imagine everyone going along with it.

they believe john is a messiah of some sort and that his survival is the most important thing . i can see how some of them went along with it.
