Terminator: Salvation - The NEW new thread

Terminator Salvation director McG plans to make more Terminator movies, which is great news for Howard who would love to make another. It's just a matter of whether a sequel gets made.

I haven't signed anything that would obligate them to me or me to them or anything like that because it was ... that film was made with a lot of humility, you know, it's like we'll do this one the best that we can and if people ask for more then they ask for me. But, it's an incredible group. We are all fiercely committed to the story, I mean, it's Terminator for goodness sakes. So, yeah, if that comes about I would, you know ... and if I should be so lucky that they invite me back, I would be loathed to walk away from that.

Bale is a one note character. You felt nothing for any of the characters except for Reese. It tries to have a moment where you should feel something (The heart), but you just dont care...at all.

You dont get to know Kathrine. They dont even mention the baby. Bale has no emotional depth to him, which he should. We dont see the horrors that Skynet has bestoed(sp?) upon us. Its a dry, uninspired movie. Cool action. But no heart, no soul, no nothing. Just paint by numbers storytelling.
*nods head in agreement*

I bought the Blu-ray version and there wasn't much material in there that couldn't fit in a regular DVD. Nothing special at all. I was hoping they would do a synopsis on the other Terminator movies, have a commentary with christian bale but no. Even the scene where they described Arnold being recreated was pretty crappy. Arnold never did any interviews.

I heard the Blu-Ray Live screening was a total failure in terms of streaming the audio from mcG, and the audience's comments. Blu-Ray is the biggest load of expensive crap I have bought in a while.

I'm still waiting for the PC-TV fusion where I can download movies in HD directly to a hard drive and store them digitally. My DVD and Blu-Ray DVD stack is hitting the ceiling.

I think paying $35 and above is too much. But, I see Blu-ray dvd's are getting lower and are now at the price of regular DVD's.

I use my PS3, so really I haven't invested quite that much in Blu-ray per se. It's more of an added bonus for me of having a PS3.

But seriously....I just watched TF2 again, and I enjoyed it. It lacks heart and soul...but it never had it in the first place. Terminator did. Hence why TS fails.

You just ruined our moment.

Seriously, Jamon and I never agree on anything but we are cool.

She was one of the worst things about this film, probably her worst performance. She didnt have much to work with that character.

dark b are you staying out of the avatar thread? lol

Terminator Salvation wasn't obnoxious and annoying. Transformers 2 was. TS wins.

If there's one compliment I can give to McG, it's that he's at least not on Michael Bay's level. I can actually imagine McG doing a great job on the TF franchise seeing as he's better at directing action then Michael Bay and he doesn't feel compelled to overload his films with tons of stupid comic relief when all people want to see is machines smashing stuff up and be able to tell what the hell is actually going on.

And you expected something that wasnt loud and obnoxious from Bay?

When I see a Bay movie....I know what i'm expecting.

When I see a Terminator movie, I expect, action, heart, and soul. I want to feel for the characters. So no. TS fails. TF doesnt win...it kinda...flickers.

I was expected to see robots punching each other.

I got a robot humping Megan Fox's leg and a shot of John Tuturro's butt.

Michael Bay impressed me in how even he was able to shatter my extremely low expectations. No matter how disappointing TS was, at least it wasn't painful. I struggle to think of any film I would watch TF2 over. TF2 is one of the worst films I've ever seen so to even suggest a film like TS (that fails mostly because it disappoints) is a worse film does not work for me, good sir.

Well, I love TF2 for being stupid fun.

I hate TS for being boring, uninspired, dull movie thing.

TS fails harder for me.

I disagree. T3 may not have been good, but it was hand over fist better then TS. TS had so many problems in my eyes, that mainly had to do with plot holes, and inconsistency to the Terminator mythos made from the first two. I mean T3 had plot holes, but none of them near as big and just down right bad as TS.

o rly?

How about in the end when Arnold is holding open the blast door with one hand, holdingonto the T-X with his other hand, and getting his fuel cell with a third?

Talk about ridiculous.

so you expected robots punching each other but you didnt get this . you only got megan fox and a horny little robot?

dude your theater must cut the movie down. it looks like you saw a shorter version.

She mave have been so, but her eyes are so goddamn beautiful it makes up for it!

Eh, that happens even in the best of movies, Joker's hair going from brown to green in the TDK opening doesn't constitute a plot hole or even a blemish really, just movie magic.

Yea Transformers 2 may not be the best movie ever and yea is has flaws but by God I enjoyed it more than Terminator Salvation. At least the action scenes in Transfomers 2 were exciting and entertaining even if the story was medicore/average. This movie has no stand out action scenes to speak of, campy dialouge ( Transformers 2 did as well), and WTF momments like jumping into an ocean and board a submarine????????????

This.

And damn does Howard look gorgeous there. Very MJ like. Even if she acted like a ***** MJ was in SM3, she would of been a nice *****.
