So I watched Sm1 for the first time in like 2 years and forgot how good it was. However, I realized how terrible the scene with MJ and Peter behind their houses is. When MJ talks about wanting to act. It was cringe worthy and I actually laughed out loud. Really cheesy scene. However, I'd say Dafoe is easily the 2nd best villain in a super hero film. Great movie.

i didnt think it was bad. no, whats bad is the newscastsers scene in spiderman 3, the dance scene AND THE FREAKIN BUTLER SCENE! AWFUL!

 Agreed, MJ an Peter chatting behind there house wasn't to bad but those scenes in SM3 were just awful

I swear sometimes Sam is determined to kill any suspense. I didnt like the "Oh" that Norman gave right before he was impaled. It was the same with the scene in SM3 where Jonah buys a camera from the kid as Sandman hands Spidey his backside. Way to interrupt the fight with a pointless joke. :whatever:

there is no way in hell a 90 year old man with a lazy eye would be a newscaster...there was soooo much wrong with sm3 its scary. I mean you have to really think about it...someone actually sat there and watched the final cut and WITNESSED the jazz club scene and said "yup this movie is ready to go"

The more I watch these movies the more I realize how much I hate how Peter is written/played by Tobey. He just seems like such a whiney little ***** to me. I dont hate the movies (at least not the first two), but they are all pretty flawed.

Hal Fishman WAS a newscaster....he died a little while ago.
He wasn't that bad in the movie, the british gal on the other hand.....YUK

well the newscasters were just thrown in as a plot device to get everyone in the same spot. It was lazy writing and it insulted the intelligence of the audience.

When everyone is watching Spidy get his ass handed to him an she says something along the lines of how bad it is all I thought of is how I agreed...

LOL...I kind of agree. When I first watch it, it didn't seem cheesy. But when I do watch again, it does seem a bit cheesy.

In Spider-Man 3, I also find that newscaster and the woman with the accent a bit annoying. The part I find the most annoying and cringe worthy was the two kids that said "Awesome! Wicked cool!" I don't know why that scene was put in there. Unnecessary.

Year 2000 year of the WUSS?

Toby as Spider Man, Hayden as Anikan Skywalker...

they were both whiny crybaby *****es..

The Spidey trilogy was doomed to be cheese soaked since day one when they got Sam Raimi.
Him and his partner in crime Bruce Campbell live for cheese.
Seeing an actual Spidey movie for the first time, I didn’t register it because I was just so happy back then…
Then it sunk in with Spider-Man 2.
And one of the main reasons why I’m so tolerant of SM3 is because by then I was so desensitized by it that I simply stopped caring.

Bloody hell, there was much worse scenes between them than this. Hello Spider-Man 3.

I still love em' all,but with time comes experience and I have really noticed(when watching the films now)how much cheese there were in these movies. Granted,Spidey and his universe aren't as dark or serious as say,Batman's,but I'd like to see Spidey 4 cut down on the corny moments and try for as much realism as possible. Looking at it now,I wonder if Raimi was the best man for the job, despite the overall fun and brilliance of the series.

I love how a thread premised on critiquing a scene from Spider-Man immediately launches into a condemnation of the inclusions in the dreck that was Spider-Man 3. :funny:

Deservedly so. It was so disappointing. :(

I never said it was the worst scene in the trilogy. I'm not talking about sm3. I'm saying the scene in sm1 is terrible. If we want to talk about terrible scenes in sm3 we'll be here all night...

No kidding. I saw this movie again last night with some friends & I can't count how many WTF's, face palms, and giggles there were.

So did the first Spider-Man movie.
I think he meant the early 2000s in general. You know, the whole emo movement and stuff.

Emo kids, I think, have nothing to do with Spiderman moves or any movie. Trust me on this, I don't think movies are effected because some stupid kid wants to wear rainbows and be depressed and *&enter more complaining about emos and other things*. So yeah.

Becasue last time I check, when a movie is dark, depressing, gothic-set, or something along those lines it doesn't have anything to do with emo's.
