WandaVision Teyonah Paris is Monica Rambeau

And which code name? Photon? Pulsar? Spectrum? I think Photon sounds the best out of those three. Hopefully they'll give her that one to honour her mother's call sign.

I have to say that Teyonah Paris does look genuinely like someone who could've been in a Motown girl band in the 60s like the Shirelles or the Supremes with that hairstyle. But it's not just her hairstyle, it's also her face. She has the look. If she can sing, they should get her to star in a 60s girl band movie.

I lean to "Photon", and that last costume. Look, I know the first one is the oldest and most formative, but it just doesn't look even the slightest bit practical. Maybe you can invoke the weird fabric wing things via energy aura effects or something.

Snarky side suggestion: less likely code name but still desirable- "Captain Marvel", as the movie is a legacy hero/passing the mantle story.

Monica has been my favorite superheroine since I was a youth reading Avengers comics back in the 80s. I couldn’t be happier with Teyonah’s performance. She was my second choice for the role (after Nicole Beharie), so I was thrilled when she was cast! I’m overjoyed at the reception that both Teyonah and the character have been receiving, particularly after this latest episode.

My preference is one of her more recent costumes, but without the leather trench coat:

As for her code name, I would like to see her use Spectrum, but they seem to be setting up her assuming the Photon alias.

Can't say I agree about the look. Don't like the mask on Monica. The jacket on the other hand is awesome. She's had it almost consistently for 15 years now and I love that look. Hope to see that.

I prefer the name Spectrum personally, but I can see why Photon might be more fitting in the MCU given Maria's callsign.

I don't think she'll suit up until Captain Marvel 2 but I do believe she'll have her powers by then. She'll need Carol to teach her how to control her powers. Seeing as though the director is Nia Da Costa, I strongly believe that Monica will be equal to Carol rather than "subservient" to Carol.

I personally think the coat looks much more practical than the arm flaps, and having it would give her a more recognizable silhouette when standing next to others like Carol, but to each their own I guess.

Brie is a very good actress but IMO Teyonah has presence and she's not even the lead of Wandavision. Wouldn't be surprised if Monica is a standout in CM2.

It's going to be the role that people will know her for, rather than the black girl from Mad Men. She's going to gain a global audience based on this role alone.

She was actually my first choice to play MCU Storm.

Yeah I would love to get a Photon movie or show after CM2. Or maybe after the CM trilogy is complete if she basically takes Jessica Drew's place from the comics and she and Carol become a sorta buddy cop duo in the sequel.
