Thank You Edge - The Wrestling Thread

Tough Enough is very entertaining though none of these people seem like wrestlers. It seems like they got people that would interesting to watch and would bring drama and conflict instead of getting the best of the best.

Yeah, honestly, I'm not watching because I'm rooting for the contestants, but more to see Stone Cold put them through hell and talk trash to them.

personally i like jeremiah

and skidmarks promo was actually surprisingly good - mickael really dropped the ball there

damn right he was!

but seriously doesnt he get booed everywhere now?? its time to turn him **** merchandise it will still sell (maybe)
I think the Rock sumed it up well. John Cena the person is alright but there is something about John Cena the wrestler that is just annoying.

Tough Enough is the best thing WWE are putting out right now IMO.

Yes. Yes it was.

No it wasn't, Cena's rambling promo about Miz and Riley being gay was much worse and offensive and tacky to boot.

I agree. I don't get home from work until almost 10pm, and I have both Tough Enough and Raw on the DVR. I watch them both that night, but I watch Raw first. After Raw, I came on here to read and post about what happened, and I'm bombarded with Tough Enough spoilers.

The posts from the Tough Enough spoilers were going on DURING the show. Considering that we have to post about Raw and Smackdown in spoilers, why isn't the same expected of Tough Enough?

We don't spoiler Raw as a rule, it only got spoilered this week as it was taped in advance, same reason SD is spoilered, it's become a routine as most watch the shows when they are on but no one can watch something that isn't.

I don't see Tough Enough until the next day but I am watching for the stuff with Austin and a look at the training, I don't care who is eliminated, where as with PPV's I don't post in here until after I've seen it as I can't expect everybody to post in spoilers for me, they can if they choose though, and maybe some will adhere to the request.

it's that damn goofy smile he insists on doing - i just cant stand it - his act/routine has just become stale really, when i started getting back into wwe (2 years ago roughly) I kinda liked him, "you cant see me" etc.. was quite funny, but now im just so damn bored of him - in that same time I have gone from not knowing who in the blue hell cm punk is to seeing about 4 different gimmicks/personas

the fans are split right now, might aswell turn him heel! (although then the fans who are booing him might start cheering for him)

All i was really asking is if people could just spoiler the name of whoever leaves/gets kicked off each week for a day or 2 as you only have to be scrolling to see the text and the end of the episode is ruined - I will still watch it but i just prefer not knowing who is leaving

based on the reaction I got its too much to ask - so from now on I will either download it before i even look at raw highlights or just avoid this thread till I have seen it

The goofy smile and salute does make :whatever:

I could tolerate him earlier on even though I didn't really like him but I've just found him so irritating for some reason. If he was a midcard wrestler I could probabley stand him but as the top face I find him lacking something I can't put my finger on.

Rap gimmick was the best. Seemed to flow nicely for him. The salute/big goofy smile boils my blood. What even annoys me more about his character is, no matter if he's being booed or cheered, he just smiles anyway.

So his character being the bigger man and not reacting to the unwashed masses bothers you? Im no big cena fan, but he doesnt deserve half the crap he gets and he's the WWEs biggest cash cow.

On this thread we openly talk about PPV events AS THEY ARE HAPPENING. We openly talk about what is going on on Raw, Smackdown and Impact AS THEY ARE HAPPENING.

I see no reason why Tough Enough should be held to a higher standard of spoilers.

Cena the person is cool. Cena the in-ring performer is solid. Cena the character is .

i find it a different kettle of fish as a big part of the show is the elimination each week and its a bit different than just who won a match imo

it would be nice if people could just put the name in spoiler tags thats all, but like i said its apparently too much to ask so i will just avoid the thread till i have seen both from now on

First of all...saying "Michelle left because she claims she misses her family too much" spoils Tough Enough about the same as "Luke finds Owen and Beru dead at their home" spoils Star Wars.

Second...Edge retired...and it was instantly ALL OVER this thread. I would suggest that Edge retiring from wrestling is a MUCH, MUCH bigger deal than Michelle from Tough Enough retiring from wrestling.

not really, a big part of tough enough is who stays and who goes....

again like I said though I will just avoid this thread till I have seen it as obviously my request was too much to ask so you can just drop it now

funny

He could evolve his moveset a bit. I'm tired of seeing his Ultimate Warrior-esque comebacks that are now built on a series of diving shoulder blocks before that ill-recommended closeline by the opponent leading to his old Prototype move and then 5-knuckle shuffle.

Randy Orton's another one of those guys. You see his opponent rolling towards the ropes and you just know that middle-rope DDT is coming. Maybe they don't need to change up their movesets so much as being less predictable. Edge is a performer that kept things pretty fresh at his last two PPVs, despite his bouts with Del Rio and Ziggler being structured fairly similar. I had no idea whether it was going to end with his sharpshooter-like move, a roll-up, or a spear. Same doesn't really go for a Orton or Cena match.

Did any one else get a Training Day vibe from Truth ? lol

Yeah, I would have to give the SLIGHT margin to Edge there. :hehe:

Cena's moveset has been evolving, he just tends to stick with his five moves of doom most of the time, as most top faces have done in the past. Last night he broke out a sitout powerslam variation that he used a week ago, and he integrated the gutwrench suplex and bulldog into his matches.

John Cena needs to go back to being The Prototype. When I saw him in that Discovery Channel special years ago performing in that gimmick I thought it was gold. It's why I was such a huge fan of the guy. JR had been pumping him and others like Brock, Benjamin, Batista, and Orton up as the next group of stars, and seeing him on that special gave some life to what JR was claiming. Here's a clip from that show:

Of course I know it wouldn't make sense for him to start doing this gimmick for those super cereal people.

Cena needs to start being serious all the time and stop the stupid jokes.
