"That was not the way it was written": X3 writer on the movie

I thougt that was because of their off screen fiasco...IMO

EVen if that rumor is true, it doesn't prove anything.

Jean had no screentime with Beast, Moira, Iceman, Rogue, Kitty, or Colossus. does that mean that Famke had off-screen fiascos with those cast members too?

Very true with that. But I heard it was with a fish. Paquin said that her Oscar was older and therefore much better. Halle said that her Oscar was for a LEADING actress and therefore better and bigger. Paquin threw a carp right back at her.

Then the real fight started.

Famke laughed so hard at the both she choked on her bottle of water. Mardsen tried to do the heimlech but failed. Then Hugh had to save the day...AGAIN:whatever:

Or, so I heard. :D

Then this is what happened.

Licorice went into the carp pile and thought to chow down, and Famke panicked and dove in right after the pup. She came out victorious.

So then Halle, Anna, and Famke all smelled like nasty fish. The men on set snickered really hard espeically Ian. He said "See, I knew women smelled like that all along." Then he too got carp thrown at him.

The the three women noticed that Rebecca didn't smell. So Famke tackled her Anna dragged her arms and Halle got her legs and the chucked her into the carp pile.

Then everybody was throwing fish all around. Ratner got powned, again.

Christian Bale stopped by to check out the compitition, and scrated his head. He couldn't understand why people could imagine this crap being even romotely better than the Dark Knight Returns.

He walked away laughing manically.

aint nothin like a woman smellin like fish............................................................ let me think bout that one

well Cristian Bale Scrated his head and now im worried for him :D

Sucks to be him! :P But he had the last laugh. A sexy laugh! [le sigh]

Keep it up gambitfire. I'll keep you on your tos. :D

Nah, Singer would have srewed it up just as much. The first two movies had no character interaction, personality, or essemble attitude. There wasn't any devolpment for single members of the X-men either.

Oh no, no please Goddess! Dont tell me this. (A goddess shouldn't be angry with that :p)
I'm as angry as you do with Storm's personality as I do with Beast's 'development' (DEVELOPMENT? HA! He was just another X-Pet for the movie, they only missed the detail of him choking furballs) but comparing X3 with X2 it's imo impossible. Perhaps it didn't tell you the the stories behind the characters, (since there's just not enough space for all the X-Men chracters to fit in -kinda like X-Men:TAS-) but Singer made a great job in inserting that sensibility for the characters' scenes (which X3 lacked), with action, and character involvement.

Edit: OH GOD! No clones or evil twins, time traveling, or alternate universes! NO NO NO. Again way to soap-opera-y and far to predictable. There's no way that wouldn't be the laughing stock of the year.
Oh yeah please- Patrick Stewart a.k.a Picard would say "Time teleportation? Alternate realities? Mad immortals with the desire of destroying planets? This is slightly familiar to me..." That definitely would break the reality line in X-Men imo

I agree with your assessment. It's a great movie until you take into account all its flaws. Then it's... not so great

I hear you min. It's sooo true. *sigh*

problem is that Luren, Brian, Avi, all of them love Wolverine and can't think of a movie without him.

Mom: So what? like this is any news. Everybody in this room including me and your dad is out of character. Oh, and in the next movie, that Art Professor will soon get out of character too!

ROTFLMAO

Zak Penn speaks briefly in the new issue of Total Film.

"The studio didn't want to do Pheonix, period. And I'm talking five months before filming began, they were like, "No, no, no, we're not going to do Pheonix, we're doing Magneto versus the X-Men." We felt confident we would win the fight. We lost, to be quite frank. If you see the first half of the movie, we won every fight, and if you see the second half, we did not win every fight.....that was not our choice and that was not the way it was written."

Why the hell wouldn't the studio want to do Phoenix? It was a guaranteed moneymaker

With all due respect, knowing how much stuff that happened in the Phoenix/Dark Phoenix saga, I think it would have been better off if the Phoenix storyline was saved for another film. Looking back on it, X3 was more about the cure and judging by the way it was edited, the Phoenix plot didn't show enough of Jean's struggle with her good/dark side. Looking at it in perspective, X3 should have just been an X-Men vs Magneto. Boom. Problem solved. Even though it sort of was, it wasn't cause Fox wanted Scott dead. Most of the characters were wasted, Angel, Colossus, and so on... they didn't get enough character development, if only some of them were in the previous films.

If there ever is an X4, I hope Ratner doesn;t direct it and Marvel gets the rights back.

X3 was Okay, just not great in terms of emotion and character development. X3 was a mistake cause Fox rushed it. Hell, I can say the same thing for the Star Wars PT, except for ep3. Ep1 and 2 were not great but this isn't a Star Wars forum so I won't discuss why they weren't so great.

^^..................................

didn't you use to love the movie?!

:) :p :D

*looks at the dictionary with wonder and awe* I've heard of these watcha-a-ma-call-its. They hurt when they get thrown at you. :( But you can ususally seen them coming, and dodge it. :P

But what else do they do besides make great projectiles?

I never said I loved it. Since the hell when? and I never said I hated it either. There are parts I liked that worked if only it was further improved on and there were parts I disliked which didn't work.

See now? My negative opinions are coming out...now. is that what u want? I feel tempted to give into the Dark Side. lol "Search your feelings...you know it to be true."

I've come to realize and yes, thought of it since I saw the film, and I agree with most posters about why X3 wasn't the greatest. While I agree with the thoughts that Singer had about X3/X4 back to back, he would have taken a much deeper care with the Phoenix story and while I agree with the things that Ms Janssen has said about Jean/Phoenix and how much of the source material there is, why couldn't they expand on her charcter more through X3/X4? Yeah. Cause Fox said no and Singer left without a deal and the Phoenix story had to be written by a duo of hacks who call themselves fans of Cyclops and Jean. hmph... still... There could have been other ways to deal with Jean's return and Scott's absence but its too late.

I won't count on a re-make or a spin off of Jean and Scott. Hell, even I wished SW ep1 and 2 were remade but can;t do anything about that. I hate to see the X-Men franchise go down like this. I felt the same way for Star Wars...if only...it wasn;t rushed. :dew:

Yep those are the mods.

When did this thread go to Spam Hell?
