Now I'm more curious. Why'd you (and you too, Ang) get out of it?

It just wasn't working for me. I had a really rough demographic of students (the one's who didn't want to be in school but had to be). I was a new, idealistic teacher who is a bit of a perfectionist so it was tough to spend 6 hours preparing a lesson just to have a bunch of kids say "this sucks". I ended up developing a lot of anxiety issues over it and decided that any job that requires medication to do is not worth doing. I love the people I worked with but I couldn't stand the students and that made me fell like a bad teacher so I left of my own volition in January.

My current job is still connected to science and education - I work producing one of the massive science education supply catalogs for teachers. My cubicle is FULL of science toys and I get to do market research talking to teachers about what they need.

Stormy is right... parents will complain about anything. The fact that I was photoshopping the crap out of some little baby was apparently offensive and they didn't want someone like that teaching their kids.\

Ah.... young grasshopper. You are new. This concept started here about a year and a half ago. I created a website and now there are about 250 of these little buggers in varying degrees of Photoshop uberness.

I will put things up on the .net domain tomorrow until I hear word from Bravenet on the status of my .com domain.

Which one? Currently Bravenet holds the rights to my old domain crazymeanbaby.com and I've got a help ticket it to see if I can get that released. I have registered crazymeanbaby.net with DreamHost and that domain will have sites uploaded on it tonight or tomorrow when I wake up. I need to get my FTP sorted out and upload a LOT of data so it'll take a bit.

I also have to tweak the email links and site text to reflect the .net domain. Who needs sleep anyway?

Dredged from the depths of the interwebz... apparently Duende Verde and I are listed as creators of this meme on "Know Your Meme" - I guess that does make us sort of famous in a weird way.

Anyhoo... I was cleaning out an ancient hard drive when I found a folder full of Photoshopped crazy mean babies. I want to delete them but before I do I'm putting them all on a Tumblr. http://crazymeanbaby.tumblr.com/

Boy... wouldn't Tumblr have been nice back in like 2005 when this all started! I didn't even know what a meme was back then.

ETA: Wow... I put that "In Nolan I Trust" line in my signature in 2004... as it turns out my trust was well placed. Three amazing Batman movies, The Prestige, Inception, now Man of Steel. The man is a god in my eyes!
