The Dark Knight Beyond The Picture: Analyzing IBIHDToo.com

Take away the lipstick, and what do you have? A sick disfigured growth thing on a guy's face. However, I argue that Joker would look in the mirror, stare psychoticly, and then laugh.. and laugh hard, the grab some lipstick and say "look ma, a smile," and apply the lipstick.

I dunno.

That was my thought, exactly.

I think he's already got the persona -- we know that from the end of Begins -- and then, however it happens, he gets horribly scarred. And the scar suggests a grotesque smile, so slap some clumsy lipstick over it to exaggerate it to great effect.

It's not clown makeup, with everything symmetrical and pretty. It's joker makeup.

i thik this is a first stage Joker.....after he gets scarred by Batman or whomever. I think he will get the scars sown up with stitches.

To the chatting a few pages back about how Dent gets his scar. Have The Joker be caught, brought to the court, and have Dent confront him giving him a sick look, than have Joker spray him with acid out of his flower on his suit (if he has one) and scar his face.

Seems to be registered to a "Chris Dee"

I googled his name, and he has ties with Batman comics in some way.

Something seems a bit suspicious though...

just viewed the source of that site: and it says:

<body leftmargin="7">
<table border="0" width="790">
<tr>
<td valign="top">
<img border="0" src="images/dent.jpg" width="637" height="476" alt="See you in December"></td>
</tr>
</table>
<p align="left"><font face="Arial" size="1">Friends of Harvey Dent is the
fundraising arm of the Harvey Dent Campaign.</font></p>
</body>
</html>"

notice anything, funny?

"alt="See you in December"></td>"

i personally, think its fake. But could be real, i guess.

Yea, but looking at the info from whois, I see no sign of the company who does the marketing, nor do I see any sign of WB.

However, this was interesting. I noticed friendsofharveydent.com is parked by godaddy. Just as seeyouindecember.com is.

And now a Batman quote.

"I'll look into it"

Edit:I don't see any sign of WB or anything in the .com domain, so yea.

What is there to still analyze? It's just "HahahaHahahAHahahaHahA" everywhere.

All i know is i just want to see the Joker laughing maniacally with his face cut open from ear to ear a la Pan's labyrinth.

Yeah but this thread is for analyzing IBELIVEINHARVEYDENTTOO.COM.

But if he made a new thread, he'd get half a dozen "Why was a thread made about this?" / "Close/Lock/Ban" style posts.

Oh, the irony...

Yeah, you won't be getting something like that. It was too clean and looked cgi'd.

Joker's will be much more real and gruesome.

this viral marketing is insane. i bet that they made a lot more sites.

i guess this will all be mroe active after december.

LOL, exactly. You just can't win around here.

Anyway, I'm intrigued by this "Friends of" site. Time will tell if it's real, I suppose. Intresting find.

It really gets the brain juices flowing trying to think of what some of the others might be.

Yes, the Hype is in Super Happy Crazy Fun Time Mode now because of IBelieveInHarveyDentToo.com, the controversial Joker pic and the uber buzz it has created.

What is easy to miss in the chaos our first taste of Ledger's Joker has brought is the other details the site gives us.

1. The most obvious is the drastically new marketing campaign Warner Bros. is implementing here. Drawings from the very successful viral campaigns such as IHeartBees for Halo, the duo of IBelieveInHarveyDent and IBelieveInHarveyDentToo looks to be the start of a very active, entertaining and most importantly successful campaign. The fact that there is 400+ days left before TDK comes out, and we now have three websites and a huge revelation tells me that Warner Bros. looks to wipe out the bitter tastes left in Batfans mouths about the marketing of Batman Begins.

2. The Jokers character also seems to be solidified here in simply the few messages he leaves for us. Lines such as "you can't cheat a cheater", and "I always say, you never know what a man is truly made of until you peel the skin off his face one piece at a time." sound like lines from a hardcore Batman fan's film - and I mean that in the very best way possible. While many have rightfully complained about the lack of traditional look here, what can not be argued is that it seems Nolan does get the Joker's personality. His Joker will be vain - he likes attention, thus the site. His Joker will be sadistic. His Joker will be deadly. And his Joker will target public officials - Harvey Dent beware.

I also feel it is worth noting the Joker's email address "TragicPast" - could it be a smidgen of a back story? Why did WB choose this name over say "Mr. Happy" or another generic Joker-like name. Or something as simple as Webmaster?

3. Harvey Dent. I feel as if this site may be a sign that we may get a Harvey Dent with a dark side. I have made my position well known on the issue - I prefer a Harvey Dent who has no evident dark side. This comment though about peeling away Harvey's skin tells me that the Joker knows, or atleast strongly suspects, that Harvey has a side he hides from everyone. It will be interesting to see how this is done in not only the movie - but perhaps hinted at during the IBelieveInHarveyDent viral campaign.
You make excellent points Norman, and I think that you've hit Nolan's Joker dead on!

How did anyone find out about the Joker's page anyways? There was no link from the WB Dark Knight site.
