The 2012 South Carolina Primary

I think the larger majority of the country are probably wondering who Jon Huntsman even is.

Paul has balls or on that crazy train. Depends on what you believe. Because...

In SC, he said at a rally--on YouTube--that the U.N and IMF--are planning a new global currency. At first they will try and save the dollar. Then this will come out.

Now before you outright dismiss this, years ago a few people on tv talked about that Amero--you know, the alleged North American Union currency. Nothing came of it. But there's video of people on like CNN and other channels mentioning it.

If Paul can come in second here at least, I believe that perhaps he can have a chance at the GOP nomination. If he can, I believe that the appeal of Ron Paul could very well make Obama a one term president. The real thing that's going to get the choice over Paul and Romney is who they think is weirder. Who to vote for... the crazy isolationist or the Mormon? I think Romney's ties to being a big business CEO in Bain Capital is going to looked upon very negatively in the current economic times. Romney getting it means that it would be a very close race like 2004, but Obama would be reelected marginally. It all depends on how the state of the economy is by election time. If it's worse, Obama will lose, if it's even a percent better, he will win.

If he can spin it positively it might not hurt him as much as you think. The fact the business made cash is a positive and as long as he doesn't try to bullcrap what exactly he did to make cash(ie claiming how he was a "job creator" and champion of the middle class) I think people could say well at least he seems to understand how the economy works.

Looking at his record unbiasedly, it looks like he took some companies that were going to fail anyways, bought them, drained them for all they were worth then did the inevitable. On the negative side I don't see the firing people as a big negative as some may think(especially if he starts to push a less big government stance).

The big negative to me would be in many cases he leveraged their pension funds, many times leaving the tax payer on the line to pay it off. He also seemed to use corporate welfare to his advantage many times(they give a case of a steel factor he made successful, simple fact is he bought it for 20M, got 37M in corporate welfare and sold the company for a 85M profit while creating about 5000 jobs, to the average person they will say he still could have been successful and made 48M).

The Democrats would be best served not to highlight the firing stuff much but really show how Bain used the system to it's advantage as it's main focal point and try tie that to republican politics. Romney would be best serve to own what he does and says he will use his experience to close some loopholes.

Look at South Carolina as an example of how people think. The Bain stuff hurt him for a few days until the Republican PR machine(Fox News, rush, etc) started standing up for Romney.

Okay seriously, you have to win at least one contest in order to have a chance. Coming in second or third over 50 times isn't going to cut it.

I guess the theory is wait for everybody to drop out and then Paul will get his fair share of at least he's not Romney votes. The only problem with that is if it comes down to Romney vs Paul, the conservative media will champion Romney and find anyway to tear down Paul and people like the sheep they are will vote with Rush and Billo

Paul's entire strategy is to come in second place, not to actually win the nomination.

Doesn't do America much good when most President's flip flop on campaign promises.

This country is gonna be the next Roman Empire and FALL if we don't fix our dollar, reduce the debt of 15.2 Trillion, and get our heads out of this War complex and bring troops home.

Troops have been withdrawn from Iraq and President Obama has scheduled troops in Afghanistan to be withdrawn there as well. For the first time in nearly a decade, the majority of our troops are finally home.

I see.

....

Well, then Paul is talking about our other bases around the world. And is wise about how we seem eager to go to war with Iran. Not saying we are 100%, but IMO it's over 50% likely to happen. Don't we have sanctions against Iran? Isn't that why our gas is going up cause they are pissed. Sanctions can be seen as a act of war.

The entire world has sanctions against Iran. Our gas has been increasing because of the tensions in the Strait of Hormuz. (Or, at least, that's what the oil companies are saying. Not that I believe anything an oil company tells me.)

As far as our troops on bases throughout the world, a lot of those bases have been in operation for decades. (Some since WWII.)

IRAN is getting bullied? Iran IS a bully.

...because those in power are tyrants.

I don't think Paul has any realistic chance of becoming the GOP Presidential candidate.

The most he can hope for is Romney's running mate, and I wouldn't even count on that.

If I was Romney, I'd pick Huntsman.

So when one of your biggest weaknesses is that people in your party might fear that you are a moderate who is Mormon you think you should pick somebody else who is Moderate and Mormon as a running mate?

Romney has to pick somebody who will balance out his perceived weaknesses, not somebody who is similar.

Didn't realize Huntsman was Mormon. My bad. Yea, that's a no go.

romney rubio, romney cain, romney haley...itll be one of those 3

Here's hoping we see SC "raise Cain" and he finishes with 5 percent or better.

If you watched Stephen Colbert, you know what I mean.
