I dont take this thread seriously at all...its just more complaining from storm fans about the treatment halle gets.....as if we havent been hearing about this for months now.

What a quaint--albeit predictable--response.

As I mentioned to you before, the premise of this thread has merit for some of us fans. There is a double standard--and we are investigating the source of it. It's interesting how you've chosen to write off all of those points into a "more storm fans complaining" category, yet aparently you've taken this thread "serious" enough to continue posting statements on it (although the value of your contributions so far is debatable).

I may not agree with Gambitfire's position, but at least he's given me one. How about you?

The question on this thread addresses whether reports that Halle wanting a bigger role in X3 before agreeing to come back really brought down X3, like some people who disliked the movie have complained. LS was pointing out that while Storm had some more to do in X3, her role still wasn't nearly as prominent as Jean's or Magneto's, yet why aren't people complaining about their bigger roles in the movie?

The problem is that Halle and Hugh have been put front and center for the movie. Even Zak (I believe it was him) admitted it. Just about everyone else has been put on the backburner because of it.

Worthy...we know you are sore because Angel wasn't top notch like he should of been. It was time for Storm to step up in this movie and she did. She had good fight scenes and showed off her powers. Angel has about all of one fantastic power...flight, and we got to see it. Sure I would have loved to see him fight and get more screen time...but this comes down to what LS mentioned...jealousy of fans' characters not getting their prescribed dosage of screentime. I can see and justify some Hugh hate but if that is who the majority of movie goers want to see fight...then that is the way it is. Rogue and Cyclops where the only characters who had less screen time and plot points than any returning cast....and their arc sadly ended. Storm was not in the front and center of the first two films and that invalidates your point. Hugh, McKellan, and Famke have been the three to receive their own film. Mckellan's was X1, Hugh's was X2, and Famke's was X3. Each film's plot revolved around those characters. So if you want to hate someone...hate those three for having their own movie. It is not Hugh's fault for wanting to play Wolverine every chance he gets. What idiot is going to sit there and say
No Fox!!!...I only want to play a minor role in this final film of the franchise. I love my character so much that I want other characters to be shown more and will take less pay for it"

I find it hypocritical that people never had a problem with Jean being a doctor, but Ororo is Headmistriss and all hell breaks loose. For goodness sake, she was the only one there able to do the job. The choices were Storm or "oh so dependable" Wolverine.

The argument is that "she stole it from Scott." Scott slipped into a dangerous depression, and to quote Xavier, he was a "changed man" and therefore was no longer qualified.

I mean it wasn't like the keys to the mansion actually meant anything. It was just HINO. Afterall, her real job as a field leader went to Wolverine, so why can't she have something. What did she get before, no backstory, no plot, no romance, no real importance, unlike any other protaganist character. For those who say that she defeated Dark Cerebro. She wouldn't have gotten in the room if Kurt wasn't there. So she can't even claim that for herself.

Yea Storm was the only one there to do the job and it's fine since it's true too the comics (making her leader). But it's seems a little too convenient that they would go and do something like this in a movie. It's not a conspiracy it's fact. The writers said it themselves. FOX didn't want Scott from the beginning. So it was convenient that he was filming SR, it was convenient that Jean's other love interest is Wolverine (X-poster boy), it was convenient that if ever they should lose a leader Storm who is played by non other than A-list celebrity Halle Berry would take up leadership, it was all way too convenient. I'm not saying Halle is responsible im just saying some things add up too well when it comes to FOX. I for one only blame Halle for 2 things bad acting and wrong character potrayal. So i don't think she stole anything from Scott she was simply famous and potraying the right character at the right time.

As for Scott being a "changed man" Scott was never a changed man not until Apocalypse anyways, so that just adds more too the no one actual potrayed their real characters.

Another thing is that other characters who didn't potray themselves in the movies like Rogue, Cyclops and Bobby i cannot blame.

Rogue wasn't started as Rogue but she was becoming it.
Cyclops was Cyclops up until the whole "changed man"
Bobby....i just plained never liked him in the movies but it think its obvious why .

Everyone else in the other hand did good jobs (with the exception of Wolverine crying like a 3 year old). As for secondary villains i just overlook those .

I think some people REALLY hate Halle cuz she is rumored to not have gotten along well with Bryan Singer, and people think she torpedoed Singer's negotiations with Fox to come back for X3, blaming her to an extent for Singer (and Marsden) leaving to do "Superman Returns." I think this explains the hate far more than Storm becoming leader or whatever. Although plenty of people (myself included) were not crazy about Storm's portrayal in X1 or X2, but I don't know if that's her fault or Singer's. I like Halle, but she does seem to have a pattern of blaming directors for bad performances in superhero movies. I dunno, but she is (appropriately I guess) a "lightning rod."

Yea but it's also the Phoenix saga in which case i wouldn't be surprised if the Phoenix had something to do with it .
Besides it's not like she stole the screen even she was overshadowed and didn't do much at a some point.


Edit- Also she technically was a villain in which case there should of been more X-Men to go around as in her best friend (Storm), lover (Scott), and wannabe lover (Wolverine), as well as friends (the rest of them ).

As far as I'm concerned, the X-movies never even happened. They're just bad, BAD fan fiction written by a bunch of mindless Wolverine fanboys.

I think the series would have improved if Singer had stayed, but to be honest, unless you're a drooling Wolverine fanboy, none of the movies are worth a damn. That also includes Storm fans. She never got to be the Storm we know and love from the comics. It didn't help that the cast the wrong actress. I don't hate Halle, but she did not make a good Storm. Storm is elegant and exotic and Halle is as All-American as they come. Hell, except for race, Halle would've made a better Jean than she did Storm.

Not that Halle isn't INCREDIBLY good to look at.

I like Halle, but I agree that Storm is supposed to have this sense of... majesty, this regal connection to the earth and carries herself with this certain grace and air of dignity almost befitting someone regal, that Halle didn't do a good job of carrying over. Not to mention the disappearing accent. But I did like the X3 hair

Halle is just not exotic enough. She's apple-pie. It's not her fault, I don't blame her for wanting the part, and I don't blame her for fighting to get her character more to do. She was just the wrong choice in the first place.
