THE PROBLEM IS, SONY HASN'T BOTHERED TO GIVE US MUCH REASON TO REALLY WANT THE PS3 YET. THEY NO DOUBT HAVE A GREAT LINEUP OF GAMES, BUT THEY JUST AREN'T WILLING TO SHOW US MUCH AT THIS POINT. I ASSUME I'LL GET THE PS3.....MAYBE AT LAUNCH.....BUT I'M NOT AS HYPED ABOUT IT BECAUSE I'LL HAVE A TON OF '360' GAMES TO KEEP ME HAPPY BEFORE IT LAUNCHES.

Okay, hilarious story.

Guy I know goes into EB Games, he had a 280 dollar reserve on a 360 going back to early in the year. He was steamed when he didn't get his on launch day. Even moreso when they promised to have it by last week, and didn't.

So following some suggestions of mine that applied to a few noteworthy EB policies, he goes back.

He asks them to transfer his reserve to a San Diego EB Games, because he's about to move, and his reserve wasn't fulfilled in the alotted time.

They respond that even being a major corporation, for some reason they just can't transfer his reserve to the other store. At all. There's simply no way.

Replying that he's moving, and he doesn't can't get the XBOX in San Diego, he asks for a reasonable alternative. Their response:

"You can always come back when it gets here."

...

Apparantly the GENERAL MANAGER expects him to get on a plane, come back to Detroit, pick up his 360 and go home, all in the span of the 48 hours they'll hold onto his 360.

Upon reiterating this point to the GM, he explains that that is unacceptable, that EB has failed to fulfill it's commitment to hold a reserve, repeatedly. Eventaully, the GM gets on the computer, and discovers he has 2 PREMIUM XBOX 360s in the back of the store. In five minutes he retrieves one and we leave. End of transaction.



Oh, and my friend isn't moving to San Diego, we just figured it was worth a try.

I just waited 18 hours overnight with 3 friends. We had a blast, played football, watched DVD's, played games... The time went by real fast and I had a lot of fun.

Oh yeah. I got there at 2 PM and there was already 6 tents set up in front of me. I was number 11 and there was 39 systems, 37 premium, 2 core. Yesterday a few hours after I got there, it started to get a little crazy with people like deciding who was first and everything so I got the bright idea to make a list for everyone so they knew what number they were and nobody would cut. It ended up working really good and everyone on the line was friends because there was like no reason to cut. At the end of the morning some lady came up and gave me $20 for setting everything up and coordinating it.

The wierdest people were the ones that came at like 3AM and expected to get one so much that they just hung around.. Like the Best Buy employees came out and told them a number of times that they were NOT going to get any and they refused to believe them and then tried to start **** with them after they didn't get a voucher.

Then again, dumbass to you for waiting in line from 2 PM to 5 AM for a system that has already launched.

But Double Dumbass on them for KNOWING they would get NOTHING and still being ****flaps about it. I mean, damn.

A Friend for the heck of it this morning went to Best Buy at 8 am (Second Shipment Day) & alas they were sold out because nothing but TEENAGERS thats right TEENAGERS waited in line last night starting at Mid Night & the Best Buy Guy my Friend talked to about next Shipment & all Best Buy replied with was we have had 360s in the back for the last 2 weeks & kept getting more in but werent allowed to sell them until Today but like I said a bunch of Teenagers were in line since Midnight so no one got it. Obviously people who work at Best Buy told their Friends & they told their Friends etc. I honestly don't get why even bother getting the system now. There are no must have games to get & by the time ANY "Must Have Games" to get comes out there should be NO problem at all finding 360s. People just want this to say "I have it" to their Friends & most probably dont even use it. Heck I bet Paris Hilton probably sold hers on EBAY

It's ridiculous to say that all the teenager's are getting the Xbox 360 just because their friends gave them the "inside information" that the system was coming out today. Hey dip****, it's been common knowlege for 2 weeks now. Not only could you have found out this information on this very website, but you could've asked a Best Buy employee and they would've told you. What were you expecting, a system going for a almost twice it's face value on eBay is going to be easy to find at retail if you just happen to mosey into the store when it opens? No. If he wanted it that bad then he would've been on line at night with the rest of those dreaded teenagers.

Complaining about something because of your own lack of effort and knowledge... THAT'S America for you, mother****er.
