There are children starving in Africa. Therefore, you can never complain about eating food you don't like again.
That's entirely different:whatever:. You hire a comedian to host an event in your honor and then complain when he makes jokes at your expense. That's like telling the auctioneer to slow down. They need to A) get thicker skin and B) gain a sense of humor.

Bruce Willis didn't seem too happy after being called Ashton Kutcher's father...or maybe he doesn't like public speaking.

I'm sure Bruce has heard that joke many times before. I can't remember which comedian said it first but it's been done.

So, was Ricky implying Tom or John in his Scientology joke?

I don't get why people got so upset about Ricky's jokes. It was the same thing he pulled last year. I just think last year's stuff was funnier. The best one from this year was "Ashton Kutcher's father, Bruce Willis!" :D I think most of the stars just took the stuff way too seriously. Lighten up, c'mon.

But the funniest part of the show were the bored faces they showed all the time during the speeches, lol, and De Niro cracking up at the Hefner joke.

Then Ricky had better look out, because Tom Cruise has a history of suing people who say he's gay.

He won't have a case since his name was never referenced. That's the brilliance of the joke -- EVERYONE instantly thought of Tom and John, without either being named.

Well he said his lawyer's helped him with that one so he's probably clear. He never said Tom Cruise's name.
Yeah and the media has helped spread the joke even more.

If you look at Morgan Freeman in last years Golden Globes he looked bored at Gervais's monologue.

It would be hilarious if Gervais was asked to come back

"I'm back! You'd be surprised at what a little money can buy you"

Personally, while I agree that some of the celebrities should learn to take a joke, Ricky is a pompous D-bag anyways. I don't like his personality or attitude. Quite frankly, I'm glad he's not allowed to host anymore.

Oh yeah, he needs to get over the fact that Steve Carell did a better job with his character in The Office.

You do realize thats a joke between the two of them, yes?

At first I did a year or two ago, but he won't let the joke go to the point where it's just dumb.

Jon Stewart just said he was so offended...that Ricky Gervais could be so hilarious. :oldrazz:

So what's everyone's love with this guy? I just don't see it. There's being funny in a negative way and then there's just being an ass at times.

He was the first host for the corrupt Golden Globes in years. He doesn't care either and next year the joke of an awards show will go back to their hostless format.
