like when people say every Superman drawn with high cheek bones lok like Welling.Kaboom said:i think any consistency between returns and SV's \s/ is due to the fact that they are boht interpretations of the \s/ itself. to say that SV is using SR's shield is just grasping for starws.

Instead of people thinking those guys are grasping straws, it seems more like you guys are in denial. ALSO, I've seen recent comics that are drawing their S's that way. There's nothing wrong with it.

All of the Superman shield logos look the "same" in concept, but have enough minor differences to distinguish one from another. The SV shield is just as similar to the Reeve and Cain logos as it is to the SR logo, but they all have enough minor unique characteristics that make each special to themselves. For example, the SV logo has flat sides while the SR logo is rounded. Big deal. They're both still s's and are clearly recognized AS the "Superman shield."M.O.Steel said:i know people here aren't really fond of the movie, but there's no denying the similarities. Now, please... I beg people, Move. ON! Take the minutia comparisons to SUPERWORLD where it belongs. PLEASE!!! There's multiple threads already started and active on the subject of Supes' shield logos. Here's two on the FIRST page alone:

But isn't that what this thread is for to talk about and compare the \8/ and \S/ to other \s/ in Superman history and thats what we're doing now. Now correct me if I am wrong if that is not the purpose of this thread then no other Superman \S/ should appear in here am I right? No one here is getting out of line and everyone is being civil to one another. I mean if this is the case then shouldn't the Welling/SV in the comics thread be moved to Super-World as well as this one? I am just saying Pat you can't deny how close the two look to one another.AgentPat said:All of the Superman shield logos look the "same" in concept, but have enough minor differences to distinguish one from another. This is to everyone overall, I don't see why you can't like both, or neither, and still be a superman fan, it DOESN't have to be a dichotomy...its not like in order to be a devout smallville, you must hate the movie...because that's ******ed...each one is their own interpretation of the mythos, because by that same argument, all smallville fans hate the superman comic books and L&C...and neither are 100% close to the original comics, in fact, even within the comic universe they aren't all the same. I like them both a lot, but i don't think either one perfect, by no means. The movie made a lot of mistakes, just like the show.

All-Star Superman said:Hell my wife even asked why they were using the Returns symbol as well as friends so I am just saying it looks like it I am not saying they copied it.
I thought you were like 15?But now one is saying that. Well atleast I'm not I am just saying the two look very much alike and wonder if thats part of the WB deal with the show that everything dealing with Superman has to look close to it. Now if the \S/ looked like Reeve \S/ we wouldn't be having this talk and we would be saying it looks like Reeve \S/ hell if it was based off of TAS or Cain \S/ we would be do the same thing but it doesn't look like theirs. Now I think the SV is great but you have to admit they do look alike.Kaboom said:you dont have a history of posting here. its not that we hate the movie (though i will say that most of us are not particularly fond of it) its that SR-philes constantly come here to tell us how great their movie is compared to our show. then, we have to endure things like "the SV shield is ripping off SR"
it gets annoying. which is why SR is not allowed to be spoken about in here. Unfortunatley the mods havent been enforcing that as of late.
All-star and K-8 have been posting here for a while, and we get it, and we have those debates and move on. their are no hard feelings bc we are accustomed to eachother, even if the harping on the subject gets a little tired.
what we as a group (hopefully i speak for the rest of us, if not, im sorry) do not feel like we have to put up with are people who show up here out of nowhere talking about how great SR is compared to SV and that the only good stuff from SV comes from SR.
no 25 but nice joke Hulk I laughed alittle. The Incredible Hulk said:I thought you were like 15?
