Enjoyed that and I like the main character, look forward to seeing more. Also liked the ending scene.

I know it’s a spoiler thread but I won’t comment on a specific event for now (unless it’s a widely known thing?)

Oh 2 episodes for launch. Damn, thought I could just squeeze this one in tonight, looks like I’m gonna be tired at work lol.

Second episode was better than the first, but this show still has some massive writing issues. The ideas are there and interesting enough, but everything is so sloppily pieced together, it's not fully taking advantage of what it has. They're really struggling with plotting, and I'm not sure how they're going to stretch this out for another 6 episodes. Not to mention the dialogue ranges to meh to downright horrific.

Other than that, I do think the show is one of the nicer ones thus far. It's not the same quality as what little I've seen from Andor, but it isn't even as remotely bad as the two shows that proceeded it. The action is very well choreographed.

Well that was disappointing. Good ideas, but really sloppily executed so far. I liked the fight scenes though, very fun, and it's nice to not be stuck on the Volume. Really like the cast too, they're all solid.

Definitely going to need some time for this to settle. I enjoyed it, but I think how things have played out, has recontextualized a LOT of the trailers. And it has me questioning on how the pacing of the show will go. Ahsoka's pacing didn't get me, because honestly, it was feeling like 100% Filoni from the start. So I was prepared.

There is a lot to like. Loving Amandla, most of the other regular cast are good. Costumes and aliens are much better than Mando Season 1. I need Pip merch NOW. Sets are good sets, no goddamn Volume breaks in crowds.

But the episodes end weirdly.

I was fighting sleep so hard while watching this and I don't even want to compare it to a much better show that we're all thinking of.

From the cheap dialogue and cheap sets... it's all too familiar to other stuff we've seen before in Star Wars tv even as a murder mystery. Also, the Jedi are just boring and they're not really making their case here that they're something we should give a sh** about.

Still, I will say I've always liked Amandla Stenberg in other things and here it's no different even if her character(s) are kinda generic.

I think I sort of agree with everyone. The pacing is a little weird and the dialogue and delivery is a bit stilted (especially Lee Jung-jae, who, despite still being very charismatic to watch, you can tell is doing an English-speaking role for the very first time and struggling a bit to make it sound natural), and the episodes do kind of end abruptly. But I’m really digging the look, vibe and atmosphere of the show. No Volume and actual sets, too, thank God. And the fight choreography is top-notch. All of the leads are good.

So far, it’s not perfect, but I’m still intrigued and interested in the show. I probably give these two episodes a 7 or 7.5/10. I did read that the show does get more interesting as it goes on, so I expect that score to go up a bit.

A new Andor this is not, sadly. Solid action, better sets/production values than some of the other recent shows, but the writing is rather clunky. The Jedi are terrible detectives. At least that's a consistent trait, it seems. But it was rather boring watching them struggle to piece together something that was pretty obvious from the get-go. Right now, the only thing I didn't predict was that Mae didn't know Osha was alive, so I find that bit kinda interesting. Otherwise, the mostly-likable cast are gonna have to be the ones the carrying this for me until something more interesting happens I guess.

Young Old Tommen was weird. And I get it, we'll see him looking normal in flashbacks, but maybe they shouldn't have cast someone quite so babyfaced for this. :funny:

I agree on the dialogue being below par, but I thought a lot of the set work was strong.

Yoda: At night, where does young Skywalker go?

Mace: I don't know. Definitely ain't getting laid. It's against the code.

Obi-Wan: The only person I know he's ever been attracted to is senator Amidala.

Plo Koon: He's not hitting that. She's got fat.

While it wasn’t the best, I enjoyed it.

Albeit bias since I’ve always enjoyed everything Star Wars. My kitten is even named Luke.

Yeah, looking back on trailer #2, just now noticing Sol has a very, very different hair cut, as well as Torbin, you know, without the face toupee. A lot of the trailer were flashbacks, pretty substantially.

My big thing wondering about the finale, we have two Force users here, twins. Both very likely to have good reasons to hate the Jedi. I wonder if the Sith Lord is going to have a.... competition.

Already, his test for Mae is such an amazing Sith test for a potential apprentice, I love it. I do wonder, if Mae going for the saber was less about defense, and more about fetching the required kyber crystal...

****… I wanted to like this so much hoping it was closer to Andor and sadly it is meh-colyte.

Sets and costumes feel so fake. I thought this wasn’t using much of the Volume?

The worst parts of Obi-Wan and such are strong with this one… I’m bummed.

The twin aspect doesn’t hit, the fumbled the reveal of a Wookie Jedi. How dare they kill Trinity that fast.

At least the racism of the Trade Federation voices are 80% less.

The cast and production design are pretty good. The story hasn't really grabbed me so far. Mae is interesting, but Osha would've worked better if we had more time with her first. She's jumping straight into Ahsoka's "The Wrong Jedi" arc before we even get to know her.

The sudden end of the episodes really reminds me of Andor. Those episodes also just 'stopped'. Not completely sold on Qimir yet and Venestra unfortunately didn't get to do much. Though Sol, Yord, and Jecki were all a win for me. I do like all the Jedi characters are discussing and struggling with 'attachments', which nicely sets the stage for where we know they'll end up.

Most importantly though: "Yord. Put your clothes on."

(He doesn't have to if he doesn't want to.)

Edit: Maybe comparisons with "The Wrong Jedi" aren't really fair. It feels more like Osha is heading towards the dark, while Mae slowly returns to the light. I've seen some people speculate they might be a dyad, which is pretty likely.

Rewatching parts of both episodes there seem to be a lot of hints that Osha will be the 'evil twin' in the end. The comments about her anger, her attachments, staring into the fire, the convict talking about the darkness inside of her, etc. Once she learns whatever secrets the four masters that saved her were hiding, I wouldn't be surprised if she turns. At the very least, there's a lot of guilt between the masters. While Mae on the other hand doesn't know who her new master is, doesn't know that Osha is alive, doesn't kill the other bar patrons, and shows kindness to children.

The ambiguous accents made me giggle.

I dunno, I just see them reusing that same set over and over again and they just redecorate it to each show and I'm including Andor in this too.

I don't disagree they do that. But I still think it looks good and I'll definitely take it over constant use of the volume.
