Since they just did another test screening, teaser arriving within a month?

Where are you getting that test screening info from? Anything other than random tweets?

I see no connotation between this and teaser and imho since it's already May they may as well wait till Comic Con and make a really big deal out of this not just another new trailer attached to a movie. Especially since we are gonna get a lot of new trailers soon - Widows, The Nun, The Predator etc.

WB tested it this week. Since this one had an audience recruited through a marketing company, my guess is that the response data will be used to market the movie with a teaser. You’re right maybe a month is wrong and it’s to help with SDCC.

Yeah I'm bored with this, I'm not asking you for the third time what your source is. If it's true than it's a bit excessive to have three test screenings this early but better safe than sorry :lmao:

I mean obviously they are doing test screenings because they obviously want to get it right hence reactions from BVS, Suicide Squad and JL...Wan is taking his time with Aquaman but I just want Aquaman to be a hit because if that happens then the DCEU can get off on the right track

Just hearing that this has an Indiana Jones adventure movie vibe tells me that this is going to get things back on the right track.

Indiana Jones-esque with a touch of horror when they visit the trench, sounds good to me.

Hasn't this movie been filming since mid-last year?

I love Jason Momoa so I am excited for this tho.

I'm actually quite worried that this is going to be a really decent movie that'll die at the box office thanks to what's preceded it.

I don’t think that’s anything to worry about.
If it’s a good movie it’ll get around that it’s a good movie and it’ll do fine.

Yeah. We saw something happen with Wonder Woman. A good but not spectacular opening weekend that was ultimately trumped by positive word of mouth that encouraged repeat viewing. If people hear from their friends and critics that Aquaman is good, it'll make money.

Nah, I doubt that. Wan is a really solid filmmaker and I’m fairly confident that the marketing is going to play up how fun and different this film is going to be compared to the rest of the genre. I also think that JL came and went so quick and made such a minuscule impact that most moviegoers won’t hold it against Aquaman.

We’ll have a better feel for things once the marketing kicks in but I really do have a good feeling about this one.

I just hope that they don't go overboard on the marketing for this film because that is what did in JL

How do you mean, 'overboard'? Not saying I necessarily disagree, just want to make sure. Do you mean they showed too much for JL? Or that they showed stuff that didn't appear in the final version? Or something else?

Basically a little bit of both

I've seen some people very irate about how misleading (some have called it 'deliberately deceiving') the JL trailers were. We all know that it's not uncommon these days for trailers to include stuff that doesn't appear in the final cut of a movie (I remember a couple of the Paranormal Activity films got a lot of stick for that) but I saw someone online (it might even have been on SHH) say it had been revealed that the studio asked for finished shots of stuff that had already been cut from the movie, just for the trailers. That's not on.

Even if this movie isn't a huge hit at the box office, it could still be a win for them. Good reviews, positive fan response, word-of-mouth leading to above average legs... that would be enough for Aquaman to be considered a success.

They need to run off a few of those in a row, ideally with a surprise hit mixed in somewhere.

Being careful with the first trailer is the right idea, though. A bad first trailer could really hurt this movie (see: Green Lantern). They need to get a little positive buzz going.

Yes, I mean that's basically what happened with Batman Begins isn't it. It did pretty well at the b.o. but more importantly it restored faith in the Bat-brand after the Batman & Robin debacle, had very good DVD/Blu-ray sales, and lead to us getting a great trilogy.

What happened before is not gonna be a problem. Mary Poppins will be a problem.

Yeah that lady was devastating with a snap of her fingers before thanos even got out of nappies

That's gonna be kinda weird as the thrilling nature of Indy is that he's very much mortal but survives by the skin of his teeth, while Aquamomoa is tanking blows from Steppenwolf's Axe.

You are underestimating the Trench ;)

Filming is over. There were a few reshoots earlier this year though.

I wonder if Warner Brothers won't try to interfere considering look at the JL reshoots and the aftermath of that

JL basically flopped and I don't want to see the same thing happen with Aquaman especially with talk of reshoots that always does a film in

I'm sure Wan will have laid some firm ground rules before agreeing to take the gig. He's an extremely talented director and a hot property right now. He didn't need this movie - I think it's more that the DCEU needed him.
