I think Shazam is going to be a fun popcorn movie and Aquaman is going to be an awesome adventure. Going to feel good watching a DC movie in a theatre again. It's been a bumpy road but I think we're getting there!

Looks....ok. Better than Justice League but the plot looks by the book. I’m hoping we actually see the Black Manta costume in action throughout the movie and not some third act reveal where it’s defeated in ten minutes. But I don’t have a good feeling about it.

Except that BW actually did something the first time we saw her (IM2) compared to Mera (JL). BW also got some depth in AoU.

We don't know what Mera will do in Aquaman, but so far she just looks like the hot chick next to the hero.

If i would rate i would give Aquaman a 7.5 out of 10 while Shazam would be a 4/10.

General thoughts: Godzilla was the best trailer of the panel for me. Aquaman was a mixed bag.

The good:
-Manta looks awesome.
-Atlantis looks equally awesome.
-Loving Patrick Wilson as Orm.
-I love the colors and the adventure spirit of the whole thing. It looks epic AND fun.

The not-so-good:
-The editing and music of this trailer sucks, imo. Thankfully, that's no reflection of the film itself.
-The CGI complaints are valid, imo. It's not about having too much CGI - a movie like this was always gonna have that - it's that a lot of the CGI simply doesn't look good. But the film is still several months away and it will surely improve.
-And now for the part giving me the most pause - I'm still not feeling Momoa or Heard in these roles. I hope they surprise me.

I would only disagree with Momoa and the CGI which you noted still has TONS more post work to be done.

Heard... Yeah her line readings felt off. Frankly... Kidman too felt off in the little we heard. And while I liked a lot of the content it's not all that well put together. In fact it came off a little flop sweaty, a little to eager to please everybody.

Of the three big trailers today this is the one that felt the most focus group tested to me, which is to say it's the one that was trying the hardest to appease every group imaginable thus why it felt over stuffed rather than having a set point of view. It came off a bit second guessing of itself let's say. Godzilla? Shazam? Those felt much more confident in what they were selling to the audience.

It's far from a bad trailer but I do think it would have been better if they didn't literally try to boil down every aspect of the film into a two and a half minute reel. Just my two cents.

Except BP's CGI looked pretty good throughout the whole film, save for the last 15 mins (where it looks horrible while they fight in the mines). It also looked very good from the very first trailer, which was released 8 months prior the film's release.

The CGI of Aquaman's very first trailer looks JL-levels of bad and that's 5 months prior to release.

I'd agree Godzilla was the best of the bunch, although Shazam wasn't far behind.

Godzilla: KoM: 9/10

Aquaman: 3.5/10

Shazam: 8.5/10

Damn! Christmas in July! Shazam and this! The trailer did not disappoint in the slightest! It's like everything epic from both Thor:Ragnarok and Black Panther neatly blended in one. Jason Momoa really seems to have an even better screen presence than before. This is such a visual lush!
