I get that, but he looks exactly like Clark/Superman imo.

Different strokes for different folks, I suppose. Let's just agree to disagree.

^like aquaman:cwink: ?

Nah. Aquaman needs to get away from his stereotype as a ridiculous figure, so the actor who plays him needs to be more rugged, like a bearded Charlie Hunnam.

You're both wrong. Alexander Skarsgard!
What's wrong with Wakefield? Did you see Sanctum? He had some muscles there, and the film is litterally flooded with water.
Not to forget, he IS blond.

A bearded Aquaman?!! Hell no!!!

I just think Skarsgard would suit the role better, and Wakefield has a dopey look to him that I'm not fond of. I'd like a bearded Aquaman with long hair and some battle scars.

Origin story. Atlantean empire in focus. Ocean Master's hunger for power and domination. Human civilization causing long-term climate changes.
How about my vision for first attempt at Aquaman done the live action way?
Is there something else you would rather see?

I was thinking it could be Black Manta for the first movie, with Orm secretly pulling the strings until Orin prevails and seemingly kills Manta. The second movie would have Orm as the full-blown Ocean Master(but I don't want him to be called that), and the return of Black Manta with new armor and weapons.

What's wrong with Aquaman being bearded? He had a beard for years.
and he has been clean shaven for years too and is his universal look

sorry it just seems cliche to give him a beard to try and make him like a bad ass like thor

what wrong with this aquaman:huh:

The beard and longer hair would be nice to see. It's not like Aquaman would be Thor's twin, he'd have enough visual distinctions to set him apart.

something wrong with clean shaven and short blonde hair you know his iconic look?

i REALLY disliked the bearded, longhaired "pirate" aquaman. The clean shaven Aquaman is awesome, something regal about him. He looks like a young king, as he should. Something about the beard makes him less cool to me.

I'd prefer a Beard and Short hair.

Think, Hercules of the Sea.

Or at the very least Stubble....but no Mutton Chops! :argh:

again why is beard needed?

it is just a cliche look to try and feel rough and tough

Yes. beards are cool.

Clean shaven is for wussy's and people that can't grow facial hair properly. :o

And think how much cooler he woulda been with just five o'clock shadow. :awesome:

Bet he wouldn't have accidentally shot his bestest buddy if he had a cool Manchurian going. :o

But it's a convenient cliche for Aquaman who, let's face it, has a reputation for lameness. No one's going to laugh at a hero with a beard.

As for the hair, it should probably be short, so that he doesn't look too much like Thor.

Agreed. If you want mainstream audiences to take Aquaman seriously, a beard is a good start.

Skarsgaard with a light beard would be great casting.

I really think this needs to be a lot more fantasy than the traditional comic book movie - visually a little bit more like what we've been used to in Pirates of the Caribbean in terms of the supernatural things. Aquaman is really geared towards that.

Have you learned nothing from your thread? :o Beards are magical it's how pretty boys such as Christian Bale and Henry Cavill look like burly strong men.

^not really both look manly without

a beard doesn't make dicaprio, efron, timberlake or gosling look bad ass because thier baby faced

for instance skarsgard a solid fan suggestion does'nt need a beard to look tough

You know my opinion :)
Take a look at Project 862006's pictures, people !

But he have that surfer element to his looks, and he's already a good swimmer. And he could look believable as a royal atlantean?
What about my other suggestion, David Gallagher? He looks a bit more matured, while he still has that youthful appearance.

I like David, but he looks more like a prince than the King of Atlantis. Alexander looks young, but also old enough to handle the responsibilities of ruling an empire. I think a beard works because it makes him look more 'kingly'. Most of the kings that I've seen tend to have beards as well. :woot:
