The All New, All Star Batman & Robin Thread!

What's this from? It reminds me of Bill Sienkiewicz.

It's not from anything. It's just a sketch by Jim Lee of the Question. It's clearly Sienkiewicz influenced with that swirling smoke in the form of a question mark effect.

Do we know yet when #10 is going to come out? I mean, how long does it take to reprint the dang thing anyhow... ? :(

I've just ordered Volume 1 from Amazon. I wasn't a huge fan of the first couple of issues but after pouring through some of this thread I've gotten the urge to give it another go.

Aside from constant delays, is the story any good? All I've heard of is "I'm the Goddam Batman" and Batman f***ing Black Canary and instantaneously lost interest in the book all together.

Basically there is a conspiracy of Joker sending out a hit on Dick's parents who were sniped during a performance. So far it just seems like it is setting up the universe and not really delving into a true story. It is more about how Bruce is trying to make a soldier out of this kid.

A quick description, please? I don't live in the States, so I can't watch the video.

On Late Night with Conan O'Brien last night Conan O'Brien showed a newspaper article about the obscenity controversy in All-Star Batman & Robin. Brian Stack walks in as Batman wearing a funny looking Batman costume and starts swearing every other word.
Conan: "Hey there, Batman. I assume you've heard about the obscenities appearing in the new Batman comic book?"
Batman: "Ha, I sure did, Conan. That is some crazy a$$ s h * t."
Conan: "Batman, please watch the language."
Batman: "Oh, crap. Did I just swear on TV? Sorry, I am such an a$$hole."
Conan: "Batman, knock it off. There are kids watching at home. Please."
Batman: "Kids watching at this hour? You gotta be *****in' me."
Conan: "Batman, maybe you should just go."
Batman: "I'm late for something anyway."
A guy in a Superman costume walks in.
Superman: "Are you comin' or what? You *****in' *****ebag."
They walk off.
Conan: "Is that the best Batman costume we could get? Get him back in here. This is a real show. Look at that costume! This is a real television show."
Batman: "It sure as hell is!"
Conan: "That's the worst costume I've ever seen."
Batman: "***** you, O'Brien."

Wow. That's not really very clever at all.

No, not very clever, it's very stupid but it made me laugh. It's Brian Stack's look, voice and delivery and that costume with the one ear hanging down and the audiences reaction that cracked me up.

did anyone think the whole sewer bat cave think it is a reference to the darren awnkofsky/Frank Miller Batman year one scene. Like he was saying he made a mess of the script or something. Don't get me wrong because I thought the script was really promising and realistic and I am not trying to be a hypocrite or something but I thought that the sewer was a reference to the Year One Train Station batcave.

Funny, I was wondering the same thing myself. Hope this is made more clear as the series progresses.

I saw that too. Were they talking about a specific issue? There hasn't been one released in months.
