I think that John Regan guy was the first person to suggest it awhile back and he did a manip of him in the role. I’ve been rooting for Wright for the last few days myself.

Seriously, just imagine Wright saying all that classic “Gordon at a crime scene” dialogue with that husky, velvety voice of his? He’s got a voice and presence that demands attention.

Controversial opinion, but I think Malek is a wee bit overrated.

Really? I think he is overrated and so do a lot of critics. I think the critical consensus regarding his performance as Mercury was that it was a great impression, but lacked the depth of a truly great performance (unlike Egerton as Elton. PSA: Everyone go see Rocketman).

Yep. Can you imagine the weight and sense of authority Wright's voice alone would bring to Gordon? Not just to the GCPD, but to the audience? He's got one of those voices where you just can't help but listen to what he's saying, because it sounds so damn cool coming from him.

Huh. Hoult for the Penguin and not the Riddler? Bit of an odd route potentially, but I wouldn't be opposed. Maybe they're going for a version more like the one in Gotham?

Gad has been teasing it for two years and hes friends with Reeves. If there was any chanve someone else would get the part, chances are Matt Reeves would've asked him to stop it. For all intents and purposes I think it's safe to say that Reeves wants Gad and has envisioned him in the role all this time, Hoult is probably a studio thing as they'd want someone with his social media following in the movie.
