The Amazing Spider-Man 2 The Amazing Spider-Man 2 Blu-Ray/DVD Countdown Thread

The Magno case with the yellow packaging is the 3D version and the red packaging is the 2D version, right?

Yup! Also I'm not sure if it was stated but are the MJ scenes on the blu ray or the Flash scene?

Just saw the Target bonus disc, I liked it wish there was more to tell but for what is was it sufficed. Definitely a challenge for them bring S6 together

The commentary as stated before, really showcases what a mess and film by committee this was. The producers and even the writers seemed to have zero clue what they wanted to do, the fact they even thought it was okay to write the scene where pete meets his dad again shows this. Also i find alot of the supposed stuff in the rough/directors cut hard to believe it was ever shot, such as the neck snapping gwen death, based on everything you hear from everybody I cant imagine this was ever filmed or even discussed.

Trust me, it wasn't.

I will say I'm slightly disappointed that this home release lacks the features that the TASM home release had- concept art, pre viz, and some other things if I'm not mistaken?

However, I'm still real ecstatic that I own the movie.

Yeah, I was disappointed in the lack of those too.

You know, after having made the .pdf file with all the cut/extended/deleted scenes, having seen the film with audio commentary, the official deleted scenes and the making of, I think that everything said about the "rough cut" (by Teekay and an other member, don't remember who) was true. That "rough cut" existed.

Matt Tomalch said there was multiple versions of the movie, each one screened to a different audience. Maybe that "rough cut" was one of the multiple versions of TASM2.:cwink:

The only thing I can understand from you is the doubt of an alternate Gwen's death scene. Why?
Because we only have 0.2 seconds in a trailer of unused footage (Peter crying in the clocktower), and no one of the crew ever mentioned an alternate take on Gwen's death.

So right now, there's no REAL proof of the existence of that alternate Gwen's death scene. Maybe we'll never know...

maybe they never bothered to mention it. sony really screwed up. i really hope spiderman isn't screwed because with every promising news happening to adaptations spiderman seems to be the only one whose screwed and i really don't want that to happen. i think people nowadays care more for movies than comics and i also encounter some people who just gave up the character because of the second film. all of this is just unfair and i really don't want webb and crew to fail and keep being compared to raimi and with a crappy show, the last game being bland, and a meh and very problematic new comic book series by slott i really don't want spiderman to be the only one whose going through hell.

this is another reason why i want a directors cut of the two movies and with how sony handled spiderman it's like they're doing the exact opposite of wanting to keep the rights because from my experience if someone like fox wanted to keep x-men they have to make them great movies. sony did the right thing in hiring drew goddard for the sinister six and lisa joy young(the writer of burn notice) to handle whatever the female spinoff is gonna be but if the meddle with the spin-off and mostlythe sinister six as of right now they are ****ed. spiderman is the only thing that keeps the studio standing and fooling around with it just gives off zero motivation. sony thinks they are not giving up the rights but with how they handled the first two films i don't see any reason for them to have a motivation to keep them

I didn't know where to ask this question but I suppose this is the closest thread I can get to it, since I don't see one elsewhere.

Anyways, has anyone played TASM2 game yet? I'm considering getting it for Xbox 360 and the reviews are generally good.

It's decent. Expect to have fun, but not much more. I wouldn't pay more than 30 dollars for it, honestly.

Yeah, it's decent/okay. Some parts of it are pretty good, but it's generally just okay.

Not sure how you can consider the reviews generally good, though? Critics have been slamming it.

Thanks for the input.

I just want a Spidey game to free roam and do a few missions in again. The last one I got was Spider-Man 2 and that was also for my 360.

I guess it's mainly because it's been a while. Plus, I'm assuming the price will drop soon, so I might pick it up when it's under $30.

I don't have to worry about another TASM game coming out anytime soon either since the next one will be in 2018 :csad: Web of Shadows and some of the other games just aren't worth it to me since you can't do much web-swinging.

The reviews I've seen have generally been 3 out of 5 stars or 7 out of 10 ratings, so I wasn't sure what to make of it.

Gothca.

Yeah, you should pick it up when it's cheap. The game hasn't got a lot of replay/keep-playing-value.

If you want web-slinging, fun missions, decent stories and some cool easter eggs, than I'd recommend the game.

Oh, You can do much more webswinging in web of shadows than you could EVER do in the ASM2 game. Def try out web of shadows. Its very much worth your time, despite bad voice acting.

The problem with the ASM games is the webswinging. its such a drastic downgrade from what we had been used to. Very straight forward. Its still fun though and addicting in a way. Worth the time of a Spidey fan for sure, especially if you have the unlock able and downloadable costumes.

I actually looked it up and realized I got it confused with Shattered Dimensions. I have yet to play Web of Shadows but I've seen it mentioned here and there. I checked on GameStop and it's pretty cheap now, so I might pick it up this weekend.

I'm all for realism, as that was their target, but that's been the overall complaint in its reviews. From the trailers I've seen, the web-swinging just doesn't look as fluid as it used to be. At this point I think I'll look at some other titles while waiting for its price to drop :csad:

Recently I moved and I just hooked up my 360 so I'll consider any other titles people suggest to me!

I can finalllllly go grab this tomorrow and watch it in all it's glory this weekend. Can't wait.

Ah I see haha. Yea Shattered dimensions you don't web swing much at all. I didn't like the game because for me it was a glitchy mess, causing me a lot of stress. IT felt like a chore to get through. I will replay it eventually, but I can't speak highly of it at their moment lol. You may love it though, its definitely a game for Spider-man fans.

Web of shadows I really sunk a lot of time into on the 360. Last time I played it was in 2009 so its been awhile. Id love to go back and give it another go just to see how well its aged.

Eh, I've played it and agree with everything you mentioned. For me, the web-swinging is the core of the game; it's what the fans enjoy in the film and want to be able to replicate in the games. It's a bit tedious but enjoyable nonetheless, but there's none of the free roaming experience that you can get from some other Spidey games.

I just looked Web of Shadows up and it looks awesome! Seriously, that swinging looks wild. I understand going for realism but it shouldn't take away from the fun; at the end of the day, it's a game you know? I definitely have to pick that up soon. It's still $30 pre-owned but that goes to show you how it's retained its value.

Has any one seen amazing spider man 2 on a 4k tv? Does any one have a the movie on a 4k tv or seen photos of the movie on the interent form a 4k tv. This movie already looks really good on a HDTV but 4k tvs do look better so I can only image how good this movie would look on a 4k tv.
