Just seen those "leaked emails".....

Let us never speak of it again. It's so painfully fake.
Wondering when we'll get real news. If you disregard the leaks, we technically haven't gotten official news since May.

You know, as much as I want Spidey in the MCU (with a new reboot) I think it's awesome that a few ASM fans are joining the discussion with us. it's not just the "I want Spidey in the MCU" mentality around here anymore. I think it spices things up a bit! :)

Agreed. It's always great to have more than one perspective in these discussions.

Yeah. I think its gonna be a while.

Even if a deal is done, I don't expect an announcement anytime soon.

Apparently that email started on 4chan. I'm going to say it's not legit.

And if it was legit, I'd be extremely disappointed. That Gwen/Carnage business sounds awful. And I don't want to see Spider-Man vs. The Amazing Spider-Man. Basically, almost every idea in that email sounded like garbage.

That in itself doesn't make the rumor unreliable. Gwen as Carnage is just as ridiculous as Tom Hardy/Sandman rampaging through London and fighting over the rights to the Santa Claus Burgler.

That email is so full of **** it's untrue. I think it's safe to say the email is a fake.

Oh, I doubt the email is true, it's just that the ideas do sound like stuff Avi and Pascal would think up.

Gwen as Carnage is actually something that Avi suggested around the same time as those Sinister Six emails.

The thing is, if they push the movie (whatever that movie is) out to 2017 a decision doesn't have t be made or revealed for months. They could even reveal details for the movie at SDCC if they desired .

The more emails released with crap ideas the better. Just so long as those crap ideas don't make it into the movie.

Just in case anybody is unclear - according to the email (whether it's fake or not is a different story) the deal they came to is:

Spidey in Civil War. Andrew will play him. TASM3 in 2017, with Avi Arad and Sam Raimi producing and the Russo's directing. Marvel are allowed to recast everybody except Andrew. Spidey will appear in the MCU at least 2 more times before TASM4 in 2018. 2020 will see The Amazing Spider-Man vs Spider-Man (Andrew v Tobey). After 2020, Marvel will regain the rights to Spider-Man fully.

It sounds plausible in some places, and in others it sounds completely unlikely.

So... it's probably fake.

That's honestly when I'm expecting we'll hear the first official news. I'm sure we'll hear for various trades about it beforehand though.

They won't reveal anything...

The post credits scene of AOU is going to be the Spidey summit with Amy, Avi and all the Sony higher ups. Feige walks into the room and gives Sony a, "With great power comes great responsibility." about Spider-Man. Horner's score slowly starts in the background as we see one Avi Arad take off his face/mask to reveal Dylan O'Brien. He looks to the camera and says, "I'm the new Spider-Man, b***h" and the screen slowly fades to black with "Wrecking Ball" playing in the background and a video compilation of Tobey McGuire crying and Dane DeHann's forhead shots begins to unfold, Microsoft Powerpoint style.

Best. After. Credits. Scene. Ever.

Trust me guys, I have a source.

Dylan O'Brien?

:barf:

Sorry Harry....that sigh was directed at the fake leaked email.

I'm not buying any of this.

First Marvel made it clear that they don't want Andrew. All of a sudden they'll keep him and do a crossover with the OT's Spidey, just so they can regain the rights after 2020? Plus, they would still be risking Sony crapping the bed with TASM4. Sony hasn't even mustered up solid solo movies, so I can't expect them to keep everything congruent while tying Andrew into the MCU.

Not buying it at all.

I would go see AOU 10 times, and most of them just for this credits scene.

While I most definitely agree that this email is fake, I could believe Andrew staying on board being part of the deal.

Despite how others at Sony might feel about him, Amy Pascal is very high on Andrew, and would likely propose something of the sort.
