I'd laugh so hard if Sony continues with TASM3... just seeing everybody's reactions would be so ****ing priceless. I'll be laughing with joy, and I shall feed off your anger.

I wouldn't be surprised, he wouldn't be the first one. The people who say that the ones who liked the TASM movies aren't "true Spider-Man fans" make me madder than anything else. :whatever:

I've been a Spidey fan for as long as I can possibly remember, but all of a sudden people think I don't love the character just because I think it'd be a stupid decision to ditch Garfield & the TASM series.

Now don't you be bringing TASM into this mess, boy. That's my favorite Spidey film right there. But even back then, even with Andrew's fabulous TASM1 hair, I'd still choose MCU reboot.

Did I spam accidentally?

Nah man, I literally have no idea what you were saying cause OriginalMiles is on my ignore list. So if you got something to say, say it to me virtual face, Greedo.

I can't seem to find a link to all of those terrible Sony emails! :cmad:

I'm pretty sure your signature covers the entire visible light spectrum oscop

All I'm saying is your signature would be a good reference in a 7th grade science class.

Grammar however...

Welcome to The Amazing Spider-Man General Discussion thread.

Where everything is simultaneous on and off topic.

I wouldn't trust any specific dates. The Summit could very well be on the 19th, but I don't expect to actually hear anything.

It really didn't. It made $65,000,000 before overheads. We don't know how much less that brings the total down to, but it's definitely below $65,000,000. Sony typically pulls in a 50% profit (as per the leak) and they were striving to increase that percentage. TASM2 likely didn't hit 20% profitability (I'm not very familiar with overheads, maybe it didn't even pull that off). That's pretty horrible for a franchise that relies exclusively on box office revenues and home sales (this would be a totally different conversation if Sony made money from the movie merchandise). Knowing what Spidey merchandise brings in, it's actually safe to say Disney made more from TASM2 than Sony did.

There is a difference between the 'movie' making money and 'Sony' making money. The fact Sony spent so much to make, market and distribute ASM2 is Sony's problem. In general terms, 700m is a good return for a movie.

If you think the boards couldn't be more split than they are now, just give it a week or two.

I didn't know they were split at all up until now. It's weird that this divide only really came up when there were actual supposed details of the deal. Before that, most everyone was on board with Spidey going to Marvel. I don't understand.

The boards are only going to be split if ASM3 is the outcome (rather than Marvel's Spider-Man). I doubt you'll get many complaints if Marvel get the rights to make the next Spider-Man movie.

It's hard letting go... for some, waving goodbye to Andrew is a prospect too horrible to acknowledge. :o

I'd be okay with it for Marvel's Spider-Man. If Garfield were binned for a new actor and ASM3 still happened that would seriously piss me off at that would be a waste of time.

Families will be torn apart... Friendships will be broken... Spider-Man, will go to Marvel! :o

So what you're saying is that if Spidey goes back to Marvel we're in for a Civil War.

:rimshot:
