To defend the TASM series, compared to TLS and XWO it's much better than those 2 garbage fires. It came to a point that I only watched FC and DOFP because of the reviews.

However X-Men series does have one major thing over the Spider-Man series. Variety and an expanded universe. Sony can't do what MCU or even what Fox is doing especially when their flagship title is doing progressively worse and not even getting any residuals.

There was one rumor that a casting announcement for ASM 3 was conformation that ASM 3 was moving forward but that casting announcement has been called into question. The latest rumor from Latino Review was that a deal with Marvel /Sony was made and that Spiderman would first appear in the Avengers Infinity War films, but Sony denies it according to another website which followed up the rumor. In summary,Just alot of rumors, speculation and fan wishes at this point. No real confirmations one way or another.

Whether or not Sony makes a deal with Marvel, reboots Spiderman themselves, or continues with the ASM series, remains to be seen.

I'd kill to see that on screen. Sony could have developed that years ago instead they choose to concentrate on the parents and no one give a **** about the parents. What a waste.

Ehh, I'm not too sure it'd really work on screen quite as well as it does in the comics. If people complain now about the amount of characters & villains on screen, can you imagine that with all of those Spider-Men? Seems nearly impossible to pull off. Though I do think it'd be cool to see if only so we'd have the chance to see Andrew and Tobey onscreen together. t:

The fact that he didn't deny Spidey being a possibility in Civil War lends to the thought that he knows something we don't.

Obviously they don't have to include every Spider-man, just small Spider Squad will do.
Ya know I think Spider-Verse storyline could be easily adapted to big screen. The last stand of Spiders against Inheritors produced by Marvel Studios would be glorious. As would Kraven's last hunt... and Sinister Six. Oh please Batgod let the deal go through.

If there wasn't something going on with spidey, why wouldn't he give a serious answer instead of just "more problems for me!". Not saying we should totally get our hopes up, honestly I don't think he'll make civil war, but I do think something's up. The nature of the vague, grinning answer is far too familiar of actors and directors who are hiding something regarding their films
