If it's the MCU, they have many ways tointroduce other Kravinoffs outside if film, AoS and the upcoming Netflix series come to mind (I also think at some point marvels gonna put out even more cable and network tv shows to counter the massive DC tv onslaught)

Maybe Kraven could be in Kingpin's employ, then set out on his own for the Spider

That would be awesome. I could also actually see Kraven as a rival of Kingpin. Or maybe Kingpin plays a big role in his immigration and upbringing in America. So many connections can be made!

If Kraven's Last Hunt is brought to life, which seems incredibly likely (it is the greatest Spider-Man story ever told, after all), the film needs to be streamlined so that nothing distracts from the main thread.

I almost think it'd be best to introduce Kraven in a previous film and then have him play a bigger role when a KLH adaptation comes along. I don't mind other characters getting thrown in the mix as long as the story is centered on Kraven, and all other antagonistic role are connected to him. No heavy subplots, just a streamlined story

They could have him as a stinger cameo at the end of the first film. If Mysterio's indeed the first villain, Kraven would be a great followup.

They owned Miramax when Pulp Fiction released, mother******! :oldrazz:

Ignoring the Miramax stuff that they no longer own, though, here are some films that are (at least partially) Disney productions under the Touchstone Pictures banner:

-Pretty Woman (Rated R, it's about a prostitute)
-The Royal Tenenbaums (Rated R for some language, sexuality/nudity and drug content)
-Calendar Girls (Pg-13, but it's about old ladies making a nudie calendar)
-The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (Hey, more boobies)
-Deuce Bigalow: Male Gigalo (****e. Gigalo means man ****e)

On that last one, Touchstone (Disney) used to be the studio that did Happy Madison movies. You know, just like Sony.

Not a single one of those movies has come out in the last 10 years.

In October 2009, Disney Channel president Rich Ross, hired by Iger, replaced Dick Cook as chairman of the company and, in November, began restructuring the company to focus more on family friendly products. Later in January 2010, Disney decided to shut down Miramax after downsizing Touchstone, but one month later, they instead began selling the Miramax brand and its 700-title film library to Filmyard Holdings.

Disney revived Touchstone in 2009 to serve as a distribution label for DreamWorks Studios' films.[5][10] Following Disney's decision not to renew their long-standing deal with Jerry Bruckheimer Films in 2013, producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed that he insisted on revitalizing the Touchstone label for production. Disney was uninterested, with studio chairman Alan Horn admitting that Touchstone's production output had been reduced to DreamWorks' films.[11]

Yep. They're doing two Netflix series next year, which is very ambitious for a studio that hasn't done a single one yet. There's also Agent Carter on the way, ensuring that ABC can continue airing new Marvel content more frequently this year. I wouldn't be surprised at all to see a new series announced on some platform next year, and I believe AoS probably locked up a third season with recent developments in the show (heck, it may be pretty safe to stick around until at least November 2018 if it can just get okay ratings, thanks to the tie-in/advertising potential).

Yep, shield ratings are in the safe zone, but it wouldn't hurt for them to go a bit higher. And I have a feeling Agent Carter is gonna bring in some big numbers. The netflix plan is very ambitious! One area I'd like to see MCU TV cross into would be Cable tv, like FX, AMC or Syfy. FX plays marvel movies almost everyday, they might as well have their own show to air. DC TV is branching off to Syfy and TNT next year, Marvel should get aggressive before they dominate

ABC Studios regularly puts out television shows that aren't really family oriented. Desperate Housewives wasn't exactly Winnie the Pooh. They actually came under fire for a rather steamy (for network television) scene in one of their programs (it aired right after some family programming and some parents didn't have enough time to change the channel). Disney does try very hard to maintain a family friendly image, but they have a long history of doing more adult oriented things and just not slapping the Disney logo on them. Disney's subsidiaries also release some fairly graphic stuff in other media. Disney didn't block Marvel from re-releasing the Alias Omnibus, and Jessica Jones is quite foul mouthed in that.

Luke Cage also does his best to ensure Jessica would have difficulty sitting down. :hehe:

At one time, Marvel wanted to do Cloak & Dagger on ABC Family. I could maybe see that (or another project) happening, though I'd have to figure out what the hell the channel number is. Haven't watched ABC Family in years. Disney owns ESPN, and they do occasionally air original programming (30 for 30 films). Where's Superpro?! :cmad:

I don't think abc family would be the best place for cloak and dagger. I'd hope Disney would let marvel studios distribute to non-Disney owned networks

IIRC the Defenders group of shows was shopped around to cable networks in addition to Netflix, but it was Netflix that actually picked it up. The Punisher had a show in development that would have aired on Fox (it fell through, but it really didn't sound great so I didn't mind). Disney probably isn't too concerned about only airing programming on Networks they own, but it does seem a bit more likely.

I'd like a runaways show on Syfy and a new warriors show on FX. Disney, make this happen, it's christmas after all :yay:

Well thank god for that, Marvel should never even consider giving Fox anything ever again after what they are doing with the Fantastic Four franchise.

Disney and Fox would never make that deal. The only Disney/Fox TV co-productions I can see happening are New Mutants and X-Factor since Disney and Fox are legally obligated to co-produce those if they're to be made. Needless to say, there is an X-Factor show in production for FX.

If we get additional Marvel TV shows, they'll air on Disney-owned TV stations, Netflix or potentially Starz since Starz does have exclusive contracts with Disney.

Runaways, Ms Marvel or Avengers Academy will most likely air on ABC Family since they're IP aimed at teenagers and ABC Family courts teens as its core demographic. Power Pack will probably show up on Disney Channel since that's going to aim at an even younger audience.

I see Moon Knight, Punisher and Blade going direct to Netflix since those are all R-rated properties.

And Marvel's only undeveloped properties are Eternals and Ghost Rider which both need a film budget and won't be on TV.

Well actually the Netflix shows were shopped around to all the cable networks before they decided on Netflix.

Also, FX is Marvel's biggest promoter, they air MCU movies literally all the time. I'd imagine it plays a significant impact on their box office numbers.

Edit: I'm actually so hyped for that X-Factor show, especially since I heard it may be based of the 90s team!!! :woot:

Am I the only one here on the SHH forums who REALLY wanted to see Marc Webb continue just so we can see The Gentleman properly introduced?

I would love to have seen where this character would end up or what the overall plan was for him.

Michael Massee may also be cast to one side? oh well just have to live with it :csad:

Drew may yet have him penciled in but probably not.

I wanted him for Norman! :cmad:

Damn you, Sony.

Ok so I wrote up a very vague synopsis for a possible spidey film that combines the Kraven's Last Hunt and Torment storylines from the early 90s. It deals with the relationship between Kraven and Calypso, Kraven's hunt for Spiderman and Connor's Lizard origin (dealt with very differently than it was in TASM)

Spider-Man: Hunt

Film opens with Kraven sitting on a throne, talking with his lover calypso. It is revealed that he is on the hunt for the biggest game in all of New York: Spiderman, and he has been stalking him relentlessly (The secret identity already known by him) Then, we pick up with Peter at a party being held at Connor's lab, celebrating a breakthrough in his research which allowed him to regrow his arm. Connor's family is there and Peter brought Mary Jane. Later, Connors gets a mysterious letter delivered to him, with mysterious, incomprehensible writing on it. The letter was sent by Kraven and laced with a drug by calypso designed to bring out the lizard through the regen serum and drive him mad. Connor then goes nuts and kills his wife in front of his son. As he is about to attack his son next, peter rushes in, out of suit, and attacks Connors, and a city-wide fight ensues between Peter and the savage force that is The Lizard. After defeating Connors, Peter returns to the Connors household to console his son in a heartfelt scene, where he tells him about his uncle ben. In the house, he finds the note and decodes a message on it. Through the message, he is able to trace the letter to Sergei Kravenoff. Connors and the note were a lure by Kraven to draw in his prey. Kraven challenges Peter to battle, and Peter nearly escapes. It is not soon after when Spidey is attacked in public, and this time he does not escape. He wakes up in a cage at Kraven's estate, with Calypso watching him. Kraven takes his place in the Spider suit and vows to be a better spiderman than peter was.

Now obviously it doesn't conclude there, but I don't intend on going more in depth on that. I think something along those lines would be an awesome way to tell a focused story with multiple antagonists that isn't convoluted.

I've always wanted to see Kraven and Lizard together, with Spidey being caught in the middle of it.

Connors takes the serum for the betterment of himself and his family, mutates, becomes uncontrollable and unstoppable (think of Wolfman), and Spidey has to save Connors from harming his family and himself.

News would be brought to Sergei Kravinoff, a "big game" hunter who loves the thrill of hunting, and sees this as a way to make himself widely known and successful if he's able to slay the monster aka The Lizard.

Peter would be a friend to the Connors family and would be in an absolute nightmare having to try to stop him from murdering dozens and dozens of innocent people, while also having to protect him from a much bigger threat in Kraven The Hunter.

I would love to see a story like that play out on the big screen, with Spider-Man being successful in saving Connors and returning him back home to his family, while also putting Kraven behind bars.

Then in a later sequel, have Kraven break out and adapt "Kraven's Last Hunt".

Yes! Just small touches like the Connors family does so much more for the lizard! They completely missed out on that in TASM. Sadly, I don't think Marvel would be eager to jump back into lizard territory so soon, but someday down the road.

And with my idea, the Connors family wouldn't just be thrown in just for the sake of being thrown in; they'd actually be relevant to the plot.

The audience would sympathize with Connors as a good man/father who just made a bad decision, and would sympathize with the family for what they're being put through. They would be connected to the characters.

Plus, it would also give the audience more reason to wanna root for Spidey and be against Kraven.

Also, that could give 'em a reason for wanting to adapt this look for The Lizard this time around (since he'd be similar to The Wolfman):
spider-man-reboot-lizard.jpg

Sigh at the fact that we won't see Lizard for a while, but be hopeful about the possibility of finally seeing Kraven in the (still rumored) new trilogy.

I want to see Connors as an ally of Peter who helps him out from time to time like in the animated series. I don't want him to just be a villain like in ASM.

Didn't the first episode of TAS have Lizard as the main villain and then after that he was an ally?

I'd wanna see that -- especially with my idea (that won't happen any time soon).

Plus, it'd make sense considering Connors would feel like he owes Spidey his life for saving his family and himself.
