It's not a matter of letting Spider-man slip away. It's a matter of having Marvel help you make better Spider-Man movies (given their track record) with less risk (being co-produce) for a percentage of more money than if you made the films on your own.
That'd be good, but I was addressing the possibility of simply selling away the rights, no co-production. That's what I got from the post.
