Spidey was hella annoying in TASM2 imo.
His jokes need to be funny this time around.

Tobey wouldn't go near this character again. He had enough by 3 and I doubt he would want that kind of intense fame again.

The people who thought Garfield was going to stay on forever sure did. The vast majority of Raimi-Spider-Man fans accepted Maguire and Raimi weren't coming back when the reboot was announced.

They Amazing fans were not just expecting that before though. I encountered posters who had the Garfield will stick around longer mindset even after the disappointing box office numbers happened.

well Andrew started looking older after TASM2 but still he looks young enough to play a 20-30-ish year old spider-man, not that i want him for the MCU...
also anything has been announced yet so...anything is possible compared to when the reboot was announced we don´t know if they want to continue TASM series or not yet

Even if Sony doesn't share Spidey with Marvel I don't expect Garfield back after a 3rd film (and him doing a third film isn't assured).

Sony, seemingly without hesitation, kicked Maguire and Raimi to the curb after their Spider-Man series killed it at the box office and had way better reviews, Garfield is the exact opposite of safe (I assume Webb is out so that's why I haven't brought up his name in relation to the third film).

yeah, Andrew seemed pretty dissapointed in TASM2 and i think after the premiere he said "f**k it, i´m out" and started skipping meeting and the stuff he said made it clear neither him or Sony want him for the third movie

I got the impression as well, that Andrew was like, things are very juvenile here, and writing is simply child play, in comparison to some of the other comic book films out there, and simply said he didn't want anymore part of it.
